yesterday was another failed attempt–i feel asleep and missed the 5-9pm benching day. I’ll get it organized eventually, but in the mean time i’ll just go when i can … having access to the equipment itself makes it worthwhile. Trap bars for deadlitfs, logs!, stones, that cool safety bar… :slight_smile:

yesterday i did some cardio with the plans of heading back in the evening to bench with everyone , but i was too sleepy come 6pm and had to bail :frowning: today however i plan on playing with the strongman logs and doing a regular bench workout , chances are i’ll have the gym to myself which is nice too.

I’m re-doing, re-learning, and starting from scratch on a lot of my lifts and starting ALL over on squats :stuck_out_tongue: which is fun— ok, more like annoying at the same time. Since i have to tell myself CONSTANTLY how to do it while i’m squatting its a whole mind tasking experience GARRRR!!!

For now its fine, but i think the fact that they are annoying now and not as mindless/easy i’ll do them less! ..maybe then i’ll focus more energy on other things which is probably have ignored for years, which is a good thing.

I’ve restarted squats twice so far and I’ve only been lifting a little over a year.

bench warm up to 4x115x3 sets 120x3x1 set
kettle ball cling and jerk–12kg x8x 4sets
db bench 30#x20, 35x13 x 3 sets
db rows 50x8 x 4 sets super setted with rear delt flies 5#x12x4 sets
barbell shrugs 115x8 x 4 sets super setted with hammer curls 25# x 12 x 4sets

then some futztin around.
over head squats 75x12 x 4 sets, 85x11
safety squat bar messin around with. not even cool…cool that its hard though! no weight to brag about yet :slight_smile:
iw as going to try zercher squats but i dunno…maybe another day .

might go back and play some more with the fun stuff!!..or just might save it for tommorow’s deadlift day. I’m excited to see the xmas ham butts again doing deadlifts…but i think the squats take the cake for maximum booty oogling.

yesterday was deadlift day. tried out the trap bar for it for the first time.

trap bar dl: 205x16, 205x12, 225x7, 230x7x 5 sets
regular bar dl 230 x7x4 sets
good mornings 115x8x 3sets tried them with the safety bar and got WAY confused..i could also barely put any weight on that bar to do them with..which i guess is a good sign :slight_smile:

alternating reverse lunges 3x10x115
hyper extensions 3x10

then i swam a bit …i feel like i’m bruised everywhere and i think its due to the fu$kin swimming, that shit is hard!

As i was leaving i met the owner who told me about a meet coming up in March, and i think i’m going to go for it–i’m a nerd and am all jazzed about it too!

No expectations, just to get my feet wet, plus if i deiced to again just see how it goes, it’ll qualify me for the raw event in July. I think by then i can get some changes made..but i don’t really care! i’m excited :slight_smile:

…just have to find a singlet to use…and the extra $$$$

I’ve been lifting 20 years and i have had to go back to square one lord knows how many times. My buddies coach me everytime even after all these years i still have to be reminded of the basics.

Brute don’t feel bad about the safety squat bar good mornings they are like hell on earth and sound be banned :wink: i hate them in a loving way of course …

try the cambered bar if they have one. It will put all the weight on your hips instead of your neck lol

Yeah, I find swimming ridiculously exhausting - but its soooo good for you Good for the lungs, and I always feel like it helps stretching things out.

Awesome that you’re doing a meet!! Even if just to get feet wet, I’m sure you’ll love it.

Swam competitively for 14 years, and loved every minute of it. Even when I thought I hated it.

…MAN. My credit card # was used online for some fantastic purchases overseas, so its been cut off for fraud investigation stuff…then I lost my wallet–but it had no money so that’s no big deal. Then i almost flushed, but then pulled my contact lens out of the bathroom sink with a McGuiver like q-tip toolin… all on one wondrous day :stuck_out_tongue:

OH! but on the plus side after eating ramen noodles (no money for food since my credit/debit card is dead so its car change food for the next week or so= total of 97 cents to last me) i did manage to pass out and sleep for 12 hours and forty minutes yesterday and feel awesome!
