One of the squat racks in my gym lets you set it up so you can face the gym floor, but the other one doesn’t. I used to prefer facing the gym floor because I didn’t want people staring at my butt. Found it useful sometimes for checking I’m keeping my knees out (though I guess I shouldn’t be looking there). Discovered I could glare at the guys behind me in the reflection for my warm-up sets. They would eventually notice and move along from staring at my butt. When I face the mirror I find it hard not to look at my face, though, and it freaks me out a little that my neck gets about as big as my head and I go all red. Worry I might get stuck that way or something. Learning to keep my eyes on where the wall meets the ceiling. I think a sheet is a good idea. I’m kinda fond of facing the gym floor and glaring at everyone… Uprights work for that, too… Though kinda self conscious about how my face gets. I guess I don’t care so much about people staring at my butt anymore. Suppose I stare at theirs so its only fair :-p

If people are likely to be moving around in front of you at the meet then I guess it is a good idea to get used to that. Dunno.

And I got a month membership too. About the access code: I’m not sure they care, but I’ll PM you Snapper and PMPM. I think its still not optimal for my schedule’s needs but it definitely helps. :slight_smile:

yes. my mom got send mortifying pictures of me by me. For fuck’s sake!!! oh my god… My family all insist they deleted it before seeing anything…but i can’t be sure. MORTIFIED.

So, small snaffoo in control freak Brute land. I was sent British chocolate as a gift --2 huge fruit and nut bars–that i should have never excepted for many reasons.

I was great, until i opened one up…and then two and passed out with no more candy left ;{ Its AWFUL.

I really truly am a crack addict around candy. I just had to rein myself in and drive around town at 3am forcing myself not to stop someplace to get a fix of fucking candy! like some freaking sketched out person!

awful! and i get all irrational! and ferrety! sound crazy, and it is! But my god, the walls come crashing down with the freaking candy! I hadn’t had any is a good 7 months before this for the exact reason. WHACKED OUT.alright, that’s it. just had to air out the madness…wwwwoooooaaaa.

I do that with chocolate too. If I really want some I just have to buy tiny bars, because I absolutely will eat whatever chocolate I have in the house in one go.

Cadbury fruit and nut bars are the shit. I absolutely love them. Living in Canada, we have full time access to all Cadbury products. In fact, we have a Cadbury factory several blocks away and they do a haunted house at halloween and give away a crap ton of product.

I’m the same with chocolate. My weakness is family size bags of chocolate sultanas, if I buy one of them I can’t leave it alone until it is all gone :-/
I’m experimenting with only buying Lindt 85% chocolate. Two squares max and I feel slightly ill but pleasant chocolaty rush.
Don’t know if it will work longer term, though…

hey bre! oh man…well, i’d say i only started to really train deadlifts about a year or so ago with an tenacity.

i’ve putzed around with powerlifting type/sorta stuff for a while however. a good 5 plus years of just doing bad form wierd shit. only doing things right for about a year i’d say, relearned squat about ten months ago, really just now learning to bench :{. before that my max was 275-285 dl’s for a while.

everyone is difference though! i’m…strange and could have potentially sped thing sup by doing things correctly but i had no coach, limited access to knowledge, and just plain confusion, but that’s ok! :slight_smile:

O–OH MY GOD. My favorite are Galaxy bars! oh my god… yeah…we have “cadbury” here but its not the same, its american chocolate but labeled cadbury --big difference! dangerous difference :{

alexus-OH MY. I love chocolate sultana!! The Lindt 85%is HARD CORE…like serious coco-bitter almost! I can get a few pieces in as well – but its is way strong!

hey nikkie!! no more chocolate talk. ever. back to the basics of chicken and spaghetti squash man. Its just not worth it to feel like hell after the crash. I feel so much better eating fairly clean.

chambered bar ( spelling?) squats for fun :). not sure how much the bar ways, but if it was 45# then i did 95, then 135x5x3 sets, 155x2, 175x3x2 sets

did a few spur of the moment benches. 95, 115, 125, 3 singles of 133

tried the ghr thing OH KAY. that is hard. I didn’t even do one. I don’t know if i figured it out or not, so i gotta check some videos. man, yeah hard. and hurt the front of my legs:{ i will get it though.

some attempts at one legged pistol squats, did about four each leg over a matter of five tries–i will try and master that too! i like how that feels.

some reverse hypers with no weight, some decline situps. some cool deadlift looking machine–sorta like a standing machine version of a trap bar or suitcase style deadlift…i dunno what it was, but it was cool. :slight_smile:

Gorgeous deadlifts!! Here is my secret chocolate strategy: I give it away to others when it is apparent I have lost control lol, Boyfriend is my go-to, but I have also given stuff to family, friends, or coworkers in a pinch If I can’t find anyone to give it to, I will just bring it in to work and leave it in the break room and someone will eat it. I have actually done this in desperation on a day off before.

The idea with the chocolate is that cocoa solids aren’t bad (good anti-oxidants) but the sugar and crap that they put into regular chocolate results in your needing a lot to get the cocoa solid hit and then you get the nasty sugar crash etc. I find that only a little of the 85% takes care of the cocoa solid cravings and that I simply can’t eat a lot of it. No sugar crash. Similarly when I crave potato chips I find that vegemite typically takes care of it because its the salt that my body really wants. Not sure if this makes sense, or works for other people…

P.S my diet is far from perfect and I’ve realized that I’m underweight for my height (compared to most of you) and judging by the pics also carrying more bodyfat. Muscular atrophy. Cries. Still… At least I now know that I actually want to GAIN WEIGHT. Never thought I’d say that…

alexus- i see how that would work! odd thing is that i rarely have cravings for things that are sweet, but if its in my face and free, then its a whole other story. i’m good for the most part, but its all or nothing like so many aspects of my personality.i go all out or totally lose interest :{
