Sounds bad, and I know its a prime T-Nation No No. It is an old skool coping mechanism of mine. ah hey shaunar! I am sorta anti diet, i get weird when i have to count out every thing.–my main problem has always been binging. For some reason I’ve been able to control that here lately, so fingers crossed --long as i keep that under wraps i pretty much am just unlimited veggie chick with lots of good meats… George foreman grilling ![]()
Also finding to i have dairy allergies knocked out an entire beautiful food group…Oh my god I love cheese so much!!! but I can’t have and expect to be even remotely functional --i get whole body inflammation and just awful draggyness.
THIS IS THE HEARTBREAK OF MY YEAR–maybe decade. For sure.
Also knocked out is pretty much any bread or cereal, or oatmeal things you eat in bowls, candy yumm yumms or anything glorious like that. WAHHHHH…It just triggers the hell out of me to binge–its just too risky. I’m lucky that i live alone too so i don’t have to impede on anyone’s menu choices…because if there is a bag of lucky charms hanging around for more then a few hours and i don’t touch it its fine…once i start its just going to get worse, EPICALLY. so i can’t even go there.
I do make an exception for my sisters Challah bread. that is just holy. And she makes it about twice a month… just for me :)!

I did 10 minutes on the Arc Trainer for my warm-up today and I felt like all the guys was like “Typical. She’s going to be there for an hour and a half.” That was the longest 10 minutes ever. I just wanted to hop off and get to the squat rack haha

Word. Most people aren’t. If people want to run because they want to be better runners/endurance athletes, go for it. But my BIGGEST PET-PEEVE EVER is the “if you want to lose weight, you have to run” mentality that dominates in America. Ugh.

Brute I’m the same with restriction and binging so I understand the cardio thing. If you can’t be super strict with diet (and I can’t although I’ve gotten way better) what are the options apart from cardio? complexes, HIIT?

Hey nlmain! OH NO WAY. There is no way to just suck it up! maybe people who don’t have the same sorta issues can do that–and am i envious of that!! but I personally have to tred on the dark stupid side sometimes…just to try and damage control my own stupid habits. Its devastating–sounds dramatic but i think you might relate if you have similar problem–just demoralizing as all hell when you totally screw yourself over- alot of times for no good reason. Sometimes even stupid steps that sorta kinda lead to the right path make a big difference for me and help me feel slightly better which will lead to feeling more in control. DRAMATICAL!! HA HA!! Silly but what can you do? work with what you got.
I think i shall just reserve cardio for emergency situations now. like potentially if i have a bingetastic session–maybe sprinkle it in. I really need to get on myself to do some upper body things. I think for me, that helps boost my metabolism since i never do it
pushups. those wear me out. any sort of over the head arm movement also i feel gets my heart up, so word. there’s my plan.

cardio haterz!
I do cardio because I like my vo2 max to be nice and efficient. I’m also a binge eater and this does help keep my fat ass in check - not because it helps me lose weight, but becuase inner thigh schafe sucks.
I can’t imagine a world where I don’t do cardio at least 1 to 2x a week. But then again, I’m not a powerlifter, Im a soccer player. Different strokes.

thanks mashy!! yeah, i kinda do like cardio–honestly! i do! of course you do as well! soccer is very cardio intense, in a great way!
but for me i go way overboard sometimes. i tend to favor certain aspects of training over the other. for a while it was cardio because i was dropping wt, not really concerned if it was fat or muscle, i just wanted a lower wt class.
now i need to get my strength back priority number 1!
But i think i just need to tinker. i’ll get some sorta cardio in, but for now i need just want my my numbers back

sounds nice. I enjoy a dimmer environment. I like it when the power goes out at my work and we can make all the customers leave. Once the power was out for about 15 min and the managers were hiding in the back so I took it upon myself to announce in a shouting voice that everyone had to leave. I even started herding people towards the door, but then the lights came back on and I just ended up standing there blinking like a fool in the brightness with 50 pairs of eyes staring at me and then scuttled off grumbling. How was I supposed to know the power would get turned back on?
