word! so i am very nervous as of late for next Saturday…blah! i’ve been doing some cardio this week as a way to defragment a bit. Also trying to drink lots of water and stuff…i think i’ll give it another two workouts , probably tomorrow and Thursday, then a tinkering workout before the meet.

been feeling rather swollen and woozy…i think my body is in shock that it has water in its system. i’m a horrible diet mt dew addict, so these last few days with just drinking plain water my cells are probably flipped the fuck out… so i have a while for them to acclimate i suppose :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t wait to hear about your meet. As for nervous, I always say that if no-one can die or go to jail, there is really nothing to be nervous about. :slight_smile:

Water with a squeeze of lime (damn, I sound like CBear here) is way, way better than diet soda. Its a great thing to acclimate your body to water!

Kimba’s right. And it’s the same scenario I run through in my mind. Even if I bomb on my lifts and look like an idiot, no one will die, go to jail, divorce, etc. In fact, no one but me will even remember it after a short time.

Good idea to ditch the soda in favor of water! Ahh, the weaning process is never pretty.

I have one or two more workouts left before the meet. That’s it. Can’t wait to meet you in person!

What are your openers going to be? And did you get all your questions answered?

snapper- i think my openers are going to be for bench 110, squat 210, dead 275—do i need to change them into kilos? that’s easy enough i guess though. i was not able to go last night, i ended up sleeping thur my 5pm alarm to go see Dan. :frowning: but i was wondering if gloves are expectable? i never go without,but if i have to i guess i can…

No gloves. Let me know if you have any other equipment questions, it’s better to make sure you’re safe now than to get there and panic.

There will be a kilo chart at the meet, but it’s always nice to have an idea. The kilos go in 2.5 kilo increments, so your bench opener will be 50 kilos, squat will be 95, deadlift will be 125.

thanks PMPM! that’s the only question i got equipment wise, bu ti’m wondering if there is any sort of rule for the increments between your lifts? is there any set wt you have to move up to? like 1st lift whatever, then next has to be at least xKilos higher??

no gloves! geez…well ok i guess, not a huge deal without gloves. my hands are super sensitive so i just will have to see how it goes. my only fear is the dead lift without em , but oh well :slight_smile:

today i tinkerd about today trying to figure out my attempt weights.

225x14–damm those non-circular plates! you have a point Snapper, i hate those things for dead lifts!
245x8,275, 295, 315–almost! . So i think my attempts will between 270-295-310-- whatever the closest kilo converted number that’d be

some cardio. then i got excited and wanted to see my squats. i’m still not so sure how i’ll be rated form wise, but i’ll just have to see what happens. i’ve had to relearn the last month and half so since it was pointed out to me i do squat-mornings type shinnangins. LAME !!!

now after trying to redo it all, i do go below parallel, my feet don’t move, but i’m not sure if my upper arms touch my outer thighs or not??? not super sure how that is going to go…but i guess i’ll find out. i think now my attempts will be the kilo conversion of 210-235-250.

benching i did to, tinkering to see. i think my attempts will be whatever kilo equivalent 110, 125, 135 ish is.

it kinda sucks that i have access to the dudes at RMLC, but i can never seem to make it when they are all there. 5-6pm is equivalent to my 3am–i work nights and have really odd sleep patterns–usually two three to four hour naps a day instead of a full set of snoozin. screwy, and kinda makes me sound lame all the time because its hard to plan things.

…so i often am calling people to cancel plans or just very hesitant to amke in the first place since i flake for sleep, because i just am too tired or its just not happening.

my weekends though i try and catch up, … so when i do sleep i have to totally embrace it and let it happen. OH well…whine another day i guess :stuck_out_tongue:

The minimum increment is 2.5 kilos, which is around 5 lbs. If you are going for certain records you can go for less.

You have one minute after you complete your attempt to tell the front table people (usually Dan and Jennifer) what you want your next attempt to be. There are kilo conversion charts there, so you’ll be okay. If you fail to do this, they will set you up with a next attempt 2.5 kilos higher than your prior attempt if you succeeded at that attempt, and the same as your prior attempt if you failed at that attempt.

Chalk your hands up, you will find your grip is better without gloves than it is with them.
