Hammer Strength Leg Press

i usually use a lot more weight but i was being much stricter and didnt use as much bounce so it made it really hard coming out of the hole since my knees are about 6 inches from my shoulders when i do these. in fact i barely got the first rep (from a dead stop) up

Hammer Strength Shoulder Press
2 plates x9
1 1/4th x12

RDLs

Hammer Strength Leg Exts.

I agree with you xb-c. I’m excited to start it on tuesday.

Live I know what you mean with the HS leg press, that thing is even a bitch to get into!

Been really super busy lately, but all good stuff. Except of course work.

Bought my first handgun a couple days ago, glock 9mm, and got to shoot it yesterday morning. Fun stuff.

A little over 2 weeks of work left before I get 3 weeks off before boot camp, which will be devoted to training and fun, looking forward to that as well.

Came REALLY close to 19 dead hang chinups tonight, tomorrow I’ll get it, and if not then, definitely the next day. 75 crunches yesterday, so only 25 to go. I discovered my technique was really inefficient, so after a few fixes numbers are jumping up finally.

Last but not last, I’m insanely sore everywhere from playing a couple hours of some serious New Year’s Day football in temperatures at or under zero including windchill. And I’m still cold. Brrrr…

Arms

Alt. DB Curls(reps/arm)
25lbsx10
35lbsx8
50lbsx8

RG Cable Curls(different machine)
90lbsx8
120lbsx6
150lbsx10

CG Bench
Barx20
135lbsx8
185lbsx4
215lbsx5
185lbsx10
*One of the reps on my heavy set went wild so I failed early.

Lying EZ Extensions
Barx10
75lbsx8
95lbsx8

Man playing football sounds so much fun, hopefully I’ll be playing some rugby next fall.

What brand is your 9mm? A buddy of mine is getting a S&W for 350$

ive said it like 100 times, the H.S. leg press is no joke, that thing is harder than any other press ive used but its so much more effective.

i honestly think its the closet thing you can get as far as difficulty to an actualy squat without free squatting.

the way i get into it though is set the seat, usually 2 clicks back from the very top and then i stand up so that my feet are in posistion on the thing and my ass is on top like above where your head would be then i just drop my hips and slide in.

Haha somehow you missed that part man. Funny though, $350 is exactly what I bought this one for.

350? Ok, look at it carefully and see if you can’t find a “made in taiwan” or “made in china” somewhere on it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Leg day, which is a love/hate thing really. Definitely the toughest day of the week and a certain sense of accomplishment, but also the hardest to get through.

Light squats as per DGs intructions, 2x10 @ BW, 2x10 @ 135

Deadlifts, worked up to 3x3x255 which may or may not be a PR, it’s been a while since I’ve done them heavy. I also need new plates, this is pretty much my limit currently, will hopefully be buying some next saturday.

Splitsquats, 3x20 @ 15lbs.

Pathetic weight, but these kill you in regards to lactic acid buildup. I can go way heavier up to 10 reps, but anything higher kills me (no rest between legs)

Leg extensions, 3x20 @ 40 lbs.

Nice finish.

All you guys nursing injuries, don’t sweat it, it’s a great way to start the new year as things will probably only get better. Good training everybody.

how are you liking the squats now?

Also with the leg extension make sure you are pushing yourself on it and not just doing it for shits n giggles at the end. You may be so this is just a ‘make sure you are’ post. lol I just know too many people who think that x number of lbs on the leg ext is heavy when in reality their mental view of the weights is preventing them from lifting more weights.

I used to be that way and now I can stack it out for 25-30 reps and I think mine goes to 245lbs or something like that.

Either way nice work dood.

Oh yeah, one-arm rows aren’t rest-paused either, straight set of 10-12 or do them in kroc fashion (or are those supposed to be kroc’s and you just noted where you caught your breath? )

I thought so at least…I didn’t really feel my tris during the militaries because I use a wide grip. That’s why I did the warm-ups to get my elbows ready.

Odd, everything else went up and there you regressed like that.
Whatever, try again next time and if it doesn’t work just ditch them.
Maybe you didn’t get your setup right? Forgot to statically contract the lats etc…

Oh yeah, could it be that the militaries felt very heavy and you sort of threw your tris in without really thinking about it?

Anythings possible, I just didn’t see that coming at all. At most I might have expected the reps to stay the same but when I say I couldn’t lift it, it might as well have been 200lbs…sucked ass.

Maybe it was indeed 200 lbs and you really just messed up while loading the bar

The squats were nice, still feels kind of “off” and I think I still have to go lower, but I’ll work it out.

Leg extensions, I’ll definitely be increasing those next workout, but probably not a lot. My legs were shaking like crazy when I was finished with them, but I think 10-20 lbs more should be possible.
