Oh yeah, could it be that the militaries felt very heavy and you sort of threw your tris in without really thinking about it?

Anythings possible, I just didn’t see that coming at all. At most I might have expected the reps to stay the same but when I say I couldn’t lift it, it might as well have been 200lbs…sucked ass.

Maybe it was indeed 200 lbs and you really just messed up while loading the bar ;)[/quote]

Heh, I wish it was something that stupid.

The squats were nice, still feels kind of “off” and I think I still have to go lower, but I’ll work it out.

Haven’t tried them yet, but aren’t front squats done with a narrower stance? If so, my flexibility isn’t nearly good enough yet.

Hey guys, I’m new to this site, and my bud Nate referred me to this thread.

Do any of you have an idea what I could do to get my shoulders back into commission ?

I injured myself doing upright rows last year, got an MRI, and results were inclusive from a medical standpoint.

My shoulders haven’t been the same since, I have some pretty moderate pain anytime I do anything that involves the shoulders.

I don’t like the idea of waiting 6 months to heal and staying out of the gym. I’m currently in the gym 5-6 days a week on avg. Any thoughts ?

Well I got back home last night. New Years was unremarkable, hope everyone had a good time. I kept up my eating pretty well but it could have been better but considering the circumstances I did quite alright.

My right shoulder has really been hurting a lot since Tuesday but I think it’s just a muscular thing so I’m not gonna worry about it. Worked arms on Friday in a sort of “back off” workout, took Saturday and taking today “off” and will start hard again tomorrow.

Missed everyone, good to see everyone is more or less on track.

Haha somehow you missed that part man. Funny though, $350 is exactly what I bought this one for.

350? Ok, look at it carefully and see if you can’t find a “made in taiwan” or “made in china” somewhere on it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Naw it’s called the “I bought it from my uncle who has way too many guns” discount.

Hoho, I’m going to send my black stormtroopers of death over to hunt me some cardio bunnies(like you, for example)…

With guys like you to defend the U.S., I can only win.

I bet you’re so weak that you can’t even hold a gun anymore. That’s what all the bodyweight exercises do to you.
Easy to do 500 chinups when you weigh 10 lbs from all the cardio you’re doing.

But hey, look at the bright side.
At least you marines are good at running, which you’ll be doing plenty. Like, away from the battle.

You can join him if you want, just means that I have to eat more in one sitting.

lol, 'fraid the ranks of the cardio bunnies will have to do without me.

God im sore today today.

Not going to do anything but eat and watch football today.

It looks like I might be starting the 531 program with Stuntwoman Mike here in a few days.

Ya see what I did there, I called him stuntwoman instead of stuntman.

Because he has lady parts.

The ghey returns with JB.

I have not had any problems using a wider stance with front squats. From my experience, front squats require less ankle flexibility since the weight is in front of your body and allows you to stay on your heels easier.

Makes sense, and I’ve got one more thing to try in the gym. Thanks for the advice.

Front squats helps you keeping your back straight too… if you start arching your back, the weights will fall off anyways.

It’s worth a shot, at least for me it fixed some issues with back squat form

Half-assed leg/knee rehab workout.

Box squats
Barx20
135lbsx12
205lbsx8
225lbsx6
275lbsx6

Plus some HS V-squats and Smith toe raises on a block.

A question for the DC folks: When you’re doing rest-paused rack chins how do you pause? do you just hang there or do you sit on the ground for a few seconds then set up again?

I’ll second the front squat.
It’s a nice exercise, unless you do sets of 10+ then.
