Got my inzer lever belt today! Was surprised at how heavy and thick it is! Need to do a bit of reading on how to use it properly, but I am excited to try it out!

tried deads with my belt today and it was AWFUL! Maybe I am doing something wrong?

I think the space between where my ribs end and my hips begin is to short and no matter how I try to tighten the belt there is a gap in the back because of it and as I squat down it gets pushed up under my ribs.

Sitting here now I am sore and feeling frustrated.

Hey coyotegal. Completely unreal log; I always read iteven though I rarely come out of hiding.

Before your lift, take a huge breath and push out HARD against your belt. Build lots of pressure. I have an Inzer prong belt and it still is uncomfortable on my ribs. Look at it this way, you’re lean enough for it to hurt. :slight_smile: It just boils down to practice and some time.

I was thinking about it almost all night (HAH looser ville!) and I think that is where my problem is…when I try to push out against the belt my core and my groin automatically weaken.

Normally when I deadlift, my stomach sucks in and is flexed and it holds my back tight and prevents all my gutts from falling out :smiley:

I will keep trying it out, perhaps throwing it on for lighter lifts too. Maybe tighten it, tho it feels pretty damn tight.

Belts sound complicated. I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it, I’ve heard other peeps just need some time too, so I think its normal. It’s a new thing for you.

Workouts are looking good as usual.

At the risk of being flamed, I will throw in my two cents that I had the same belt problem for quite some time until I bought a tapered. I know there is no love out there for tapers, but a full size belt doesn’t fit my waist and instead sits on my ribs at one end and my hip bones at the other. Couldn’t snug it up properly and get a breath to get down to the bar.

Who did you buy the belt from? Is it possible to return it and exchange it for a tapered one? If it’s not custom, I’d think they might go for it.
