Boosting T for Pheromone Manipulation?

Hi all - four-month lurker here, this is my first post.

I’ve recently been experimenting with the prescription for increasing free testosterone prescribed by Tim Ferriss (The 4 Hour Body) - a combination of Brazil nuts, cod liver butter oil, sauerkraut, and cholesterol overloading.

I have observed some definite effects of temporarily increasing testosterone…just not the desirable effects (with women) that Ferriss describes.

I feel a little deceived. While I didn’t expect the effects he so dramatically talks about, I have found some definite results, that I’ve repeated again and again through trying different variations of the above mixture: irritability, increased libido, attracting others’ disdain and starting arguments, a feeling of uneasiness, etc.

Has anybody else experimented with temporary testosterone manipulation to increase pheromones with women? What was your experience?

And here’s an excerpt from the book, presented, I thought, as a true story from Ferriss:

"I had just taken my total testosterone from 244.8 to 653.3
ng/dL (nanograms per deciliter), while cutting my estradiol (estrogen) in half.

The result?

LOL. The guy brought himself to midrange average levels and acts like he has some voodoo spells over and above average men? If there is any truth to his story, the chick was already in to him and he himself was acting more confident, which finally turned her on.

The trick to attracting women with testosterone is not pheramones, it is the ability to build muscles.

Lol for taking Tim Ferriss at his word on anything. The guy’s learned a lot of techniques, for a lot of things, but it’s not all quite as magical as he puts it.

If you have all the other stuff figured out, sure, increased pheremones might make a difference.

But you have to consider that he had enough stuff working for him that he was on a date with a CEO in the first place. Increased testosterone didn’t get him that date.

On that note, sounds like you’d be better served trawling PUI sites than this one. (Well, at least if you’re trying to get that “edge” with women.)

While the selenium in the brazil nut along with increased good fats and cholesterol could help you raise your test levels from poor to average(which he is claiming). The DIM in the sauerkraut would not cut your estrogen levels in half.

Could you imagine a world where 1 can of sauerkraut a day cut estrogen levels in half leading to more free-T? It would be bigger than creatine.

Weight: 155 pounds
Height: 5’10"
Bodyfat: 16%

You’d get a better return on your time/energy invested if you experimented with squats and milk, rather than worrying about your pheromones.

when your born you have ‘pheromone’ receptors to help create a bond with your mother while being breast feed. when you grow up you lose them. other animals use them often but humans don’t use them. a small portion of people MIGHT retain some but still don’t use them.

I doubt they would even budge unless the guy making the claims also lost about 70lbs of body fat and gained 20lbs of muscle between the two hormone tests. To be sub 300ng/dL is way below the already low normal range. They guy either has a serious issue that was resolved with HRT that he failed to mention, or he went from a couch potato to a walk on prospect.
