Bolthouse Farms Smoothies

Just wondering what you guys think of the Bolthouse Farms line of juices/smoothies. I know they contain a good amount of sugar, but they are all natural/ non g.m. and pretty cheap around me. My favorite is the Green Goodness, which contains these ingredients:

Apple Juice, Pineapple Juice, Mango Puree, Banana Puree, Kiwi Juice, Natural Flavor, Spirulina, Open Cell Chlorella, Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid,) Lime Juice, Zinc Sulfate, Broccoli, Green Tea, Spinach, Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Blue Green Algae, Echinacea Purpurea Extract, Odorless Garlic, Tamarind Puree, Dragon Fruit Juice, Lemon Bioflavanoids, Jerusalem Artichoke and Nova Scotia Dulce.

I thought that was pretty impressive. I have never gotten sick with a bottle of that in the fridge:) I drink about a half bottle a day, around $1.75 for me.

The Berry Boost is my second favorite, they also have a blueberry one and a purple carrot amongst others.

The more I look, the more I think I should probable just switch to the Superfood/greens+ mix, both nutritionally and financially. They would end up being around the same price.

Any input?

First of all, they taste good; even the greens mix you mentioned that looks like swamp water tastes nice.

If health is the concern and Superfood is an option, make the switch. You get the phytonutrition without the calories, which can come from other sources, with even more phytonutrition! (Or more fats and proteins instead of carbs)

I wish their vanilla chai tea was made with whey, not soy.

Berry Boost is my favorite. I fast for a whole day once every 3 months or so and the 8 grams of fiber per serving definitely helps. There’s plenty of carbs to keep me going and it’s a great way to get your fruit intake.

Lol at the swamp water comment… my friends won’t touch the stuff. I appreciate the input, I am going to save up for superfood and cut back the juices to before my workouts. Ditto on the vanilla chai tea, although they would probably sell less product overall if they did switch it to whey because the general public is enamored with soy. It is still tasty though.
