Ok, I’m horrible about getting in enough vegetables I know and am thinking of supplementing with Greens + like Berardi has reccommended. Has anyone tried this supplement, if so what were your thoughts? Also, how much do I need to take daily to meet requirements of someone trying to be more healthy? And at what time assuming I workout in the late afternoon.
I know it’s not as good as the real thing, but I’m terribly shy of meeting veggie requirements.
I like Greens+ and take it whenever I drink a protein shake. I get less bloated and do not get gassy afterwards. The old plumbing works better too. Greens+, Fish oil, and Flax Meals are my favorite health supplements.

How does G+ taste relative to other greens supplements?
I second the support for Greens. Not a substitute, but I believe it helps. One thing I keep forgetting is the servings of green vegetables in one serving of any of the greens supplements. I’ve heard in a range of 7-10 servings of green veggies to one serving of greens supplement. Can anyone prove or provide an explanation please?

Im guessing water content is what makes the product have many servings in a scoop.
vegitables are nearly 100% water, so only a fraction of the volume of powder is needed to make up several servings of actual veggies

It taste like dried seaweed to me, which I like. I do not blend it in my protein shake like Dr. Berardi does. I tried that once and I’ll just say that Chocolate and seaweed does not taste right together. I just scoop up a tablespoon full and slam it down with some water.

I had some “Superdfood” and it tasted like green. If the color green had a taste, it would be this. Is G+ similar?
I use green Vibrance, one tablespoon in the morning. I still try to eat my fruits and vegetables the rest of the day, but at least I know I have a good base from the morning.
Mixed in plain water isn’t too bad, but it isn’t too good either.
Mixed with a strongly flavored juice like Cranberry its quite good.
Mixed with Grow! results in simply green Grow! Tastes fine, just looks green.

The greens+ formulation is made up of 23 phytonutrients and one serving (3 teaspoons) of greens+ is equivalent to 6 cups of organic salad.
The greens is most effective if taken first thing in the morning, however I take it then as part of my Supershake that Berardi recommends as well as in my PWO shake. It also helps with eliminate the buildup of lactic acid.
You should experience more energy and a gentle detox.
Also concerning the taste greens+ comes in a variety of flavours. If you go to JB’s website there is a linkup there.

Where can you buy it and what form does it come in (pills, liquid, powder)? I used to use wheatgrass but my juicer broke.[/quote]
Greens + is good if you can’t get your vegs in otherwise.the great thing about raw, rich in water vegs though is that they pass through the system easilly.
I’ve tried Greens+ and thought it tasted pretty bad. GreensFirst, however, tastes really good with just water. Not just “tolerable,” but actually good. Plus it has antioxidant fruits in it like raspberries and a few others. It’s made by “Doctors for Nutrition” and I think you can usually buy it on Ebay.
I just want to give everyone a possible warning on this product. Do not buy this product if you have allergies to any type of grass. I took some, knowing that I might have an allergic reaction (I am allergic to grass, pollen, mold) because it looked like such a good product. This stuff almost sent me to the hospital! If not for some benedryl on hand, I know I would have gone into anaphylactic shock. This is the worst allergic reaction that I have ever had, and it scared me shitless!
Beauzo,
I’ve had some pretty severe allergic reactions in the past too (not to this product) and I sympathize. Pretty scary.
I think this highlights the necessity, as some of the smart people here have said, that real vegetables are always the first choice. Supplements assist, yes but should rarely, if ever, replace a food item. Allergic reactions to one type of plant for example can be avoided by choosing others in food form (rather than a powdered mixture).
Just a friendly neighborhood reminder not to let a product become a crutch in one’s diet/ lifestyle. It rarely starts out this way but behavior change is a slippery slope…
