Have been stupid busy at work and home. Food has been decent but it’s getting tough to keep up with hydration. Still drinking the liquid IV and Gatorade though.
Spring-time slowdown at work is over and it has REALLY picked up again. I’m having a difficult time fitting in at the new company and am essentially left alone to do my own thing, which is great, but leaves a lot of work for me to do by myself (which is the entire purpose of me joining this company… For some assistance…). After all of this time at the new place, I’ve just finally met everybody at a company-wide meeting. Most of the guys appreciate my skill set, but they just don’t want to do the work that I do/will.
Going to give it some more time and see what happens. It’s only been 6 months. I feel pretty run down physically and mentally, but am always excited and happy to finally get to lift.
320 moved slow but I crushed the BBB sets, which is good. Might have to let my belt out a notch, likely not due to getting fat, but my obliques and lower back seem to have grown pretty substantially.
On call this week, so I’ll hit OHP tomorrow late morning if I’m home. If not, Sunday.
Press was strong today and 130 moved well. Those swings coupled with curls have made my forearms pump up something fierce. I opted to switch up from poundstone curls just to have a bit of a change. I haven’t done heavy curls in a long time, probably close to two years.
Week 4 is in the books, so I’m closing in on the final push of the program, and then on to a week of swings/conditioning/diet break, and then Building the monolith.
Had quite a bit of time to eat today, so I decided to actually take time to cook a lunch for myself. It didn’t take long, but having a hot meal in the middle of the day is a rare occurrence for me.
Decided to cook a ribeye, and also figured I’d do it in the way that my dad and grandfather like to eat steak/beef.
Ribeye is cooked first, after it is nearly cooked and the fat is bubbling in the pan add in sweet onions to saute, after onions start to brown add yellow mustard (and I added horseradish mustard as well).
Edit to add that I also bought two Tbones for memorial day. Haven’t grilled in a while so I’m super excited. Going to salt the piss out of them tomorrow in preparation.

Fucking dying over here. This took just under 13 minutes. I was planning on doing something similar to this first thing upon waking up but I got called out at 6:30, and I was surprisingly still asleep. Deadlifts and t bones tomorrow.
Up at 5 to let the dog out and get some paperwork done. Started this around 9AM fasted. About to eat a bit then spend the.majority of the day on my in-laws boat…
Then T-bones. They’re salted, peppered and ready to be grilled up later. Super excited.
Haha yeah dude the 10k challenge really lit a fire under my ass to hurry up and get work done. My “gas tank” is the better now than it’s ever been. I’m hoping it translates well to DW when I get to that point.
It’s funny that I am still out of breath pretty easily, but I’m ready to go again in almost no time at all.
100% this. I was doing prowler conditioning today and every time I went to take a break I realized I was already pretty much recovered and went back to work, feels great.
I ate a full and a half, going to save the remainder for lunch tomorrow. My wife made stuffed jalapenos/habaneros, which were awesome and extremely tough to eat. All in all an awesome meal.
I was planning on bench yesterday after work… Got home and took the dog for a 2 mile walk, ended up getting called out while walking back up the driveway. I was out until 9:30 so no benching. I’m planning on getting it done today. It’s been pretty hot here, and yesterday was about 90 degrees. I spent 8 hours on a rubber roof and another 4 hours outside on the side of a hospital. Lots of Gatorade zero and lots of water.
Feeling good as far as how the weight is moving so far, and diet has been good. I feel like I’m still slowly gaining weight which is awesome. My main obstacle right now is trying to fit in lifting and conditioning on a regular schedule. It’s not make or break, as I’ve just been slotting stuff in when I have the time. As of right now, the new job is the same as the old one, so I’m also looking for a change in that regard. Lots of empty promises and chest thumping from the higher ups.
If I still feel like I am happy with how much I’m eating, I may just shoot straight from BBBB to monolith without taking a break. I like BBBB and how I respond to it, but I am definitely ready for something else.
120 second plank
40 situps
60 second plank
20 situps
I fucking hate planks
Squats either tomorrow or Friday, press friday or Saturday AM. Then on to the final week. Looking forward to potentially hitting a bench and press rep PR.
Thanks man. I’ve been re-reading pwns book of bad ideas, which is where that idea came from. About halfway through the swings/CP I realized I might have more left in the tank so I decided to hit a Widowmaker… and then swings because why not.
It’s so funny that I can be absolutely wrecked in less than 15 minutes, while people spend 2+ hours working out and barely break a sweat.
I would definitely recommend the press ladders too. That one is absolutely ridiculous. I might drop the weight back a little bit so I can get more rounds in next time though.
