I imagine I’m not quite hippy enough but am working on getting there. I keep thinking I should video myself but the last thing in the world I want to do right now is more KB swings.
In other news I’m getting my brother to take part in the program (at least partially), part of his response was:
Talked to [a friend] about [the program] a few days ago he said a trainer once told him that when doing kettle swings you should be pumping hips “like you’re trying to fuck JLo"
Which probably isn’t the advice i’d give to everyone but the message is clear
Had a very busy and active past couple of days. Went to the finger lakes yesterday and did two pretty long hikes, one hiking up the side of a gorge which was very intense. Stopped at a few breweries and distilleries on the way home. Lots of good food, beer, vodka and views.
This morning we went to an infrared sauna and I sweat more than I think I ever have. Even an hour after we left I was sweating through my shirt. We ended up taking a walk around a hilly park near the house and stopped down at the lake and had breakfast.
I feel like I haven’t stopped sweating in two days straight so I have been doing my best to destroy water and drink lots of pickle juice. Press was good. Curls were very, very difficult.
Weighed in at 208 this morning. Weight is coming back up!!!
You crushed the timing, been spectacular around here recently and the trees are all green, finally. I just spent the day on the west side of Cayuga, couldn’t have asked for a better day.
@SvenG thanks man, it was a much needed break from the everyday grind to get out and enjoy ourselves a bit. I can’t believe it’s been a year already, haha.
@heretolog yeah it was even better weather than we could’ve hoped for. Blue skies, not overwhelmingly hot and a nice light breeze. Every time I go to southern NY I wonder why I stay where I am haha. It’s so awesome down in that area.
Yesterday was a mishmash of work around the house. Sanding and painting mostly, cleaning up the patio and clearing the treeline of all the branches that fell over the winter. Then I chased my nephews around my parents backyard, playing tag with a hose with water that is still way too cold.
We had a great anniversary dinner after hanging out with my family. I cooked sirloin medallions and she made some tuna steaks with a slaw. It was awesome.
I’m going to shoot for 200 dips, 200 pushups and 200 BPAs throughout the way in between more yardwork. Cooking up some piedmontese hot dogs for dinner tonight.
Weighed 205 this morning which I think is a better representation of my weight right now. I have 1’s week starting tomorrow, which should be pretty difficult. I’m ready though. 5’s week always lulls me into a false sense of strength, and then 1’s put me back into my place.
I would like to be a steady 210 while trying to maintain my level of not-quite-fat, haha. I’ve been floating around 198-205 for the past year and a half or so. I think I’ve kind of exhausted what I can do at this weight, at least at this point in my lifting journey.
Right now I seem to be heavier than I have been in a while, and I don’t feel like I look that much different but have been getting comments on how I look bigger, so I’ll take it. Just gotta stay consistent.
Hit 200 dips earlier, spent the rest of the day working outside so I only hit partials of the rest of the numbers on BPAs and pushups.
Thrown another curve all as well. My wife made me a rosemary sourdough grilled cheese, and I made myself a ribeye with a ton of garlic and pepper. It smells amazing in my house right now
Kind of a random thought/question for anyone who has any insight, but I’ve been noticing my vascularity has increased pretty substantially lately. I’ve noticed quite a few veins in my calf, one that pops in my shoulders and my arms/biceps have gotten much more apparent, even without a pump.
Is this because of being better conditioned? Leaner in the extremities? Larger muscles in the extremities?
They started to show during the 10k challenge, so I am unsure what aspect of lifting I should give credit to. Possibly a combination of any/all factors?
It’s strange that I don’t necessarily look or feel leaner, but maybe that is the case, at least for my arms and legs.
I also notice slightly more vascularity when it’s warmer out, but this is almost a night and day difference between now and a month or two ago. Just something that piqued my curiosity, thanks for the reply Anna!
I have definitely been way more diligent with salt, making sure to be heavy handed, at least compared to what is normal for me, with both the coarse kosher and table salt.
Crushed 370. It felt really, really quick. The 5x10 was way more difficult than I had anticipated. Might have to add in a bit more rest on the next 1’s week.
