Bench moved well, every rep was done with purpose and intent. I am really hungry right now, though. Started feeling my stomach grumble about halfway through the work sets.
I think I messed up my calculation for the weights yesterday on squats. Might have a repeat of the same weights next week.
So far I’ve had 6 scrambled eggs, an avocado, 1/2 tub of cottage cheese, 4 scoops.of.peanut butter. Going to go at some vegetables that my wife made (peppers and onions) and then hammer down some ground beef that was left over from my lunches this week.
Yup I’ve had them for a while, just haven’t used them much until recently. I’ve been repeating the same conditioning workouts over and over so I decided to switch it up a bit
First couple were 10, final 3 were 7, 7, 6, I think. I started the pick at the beep for 30 seconds of work.
Damn you’re moving fast.
I have just stepped into sandbag world and I love it. It is humbling. Have quite a few “fun” things to try, Pwn mentioned “tabata picks” and I’m thinking it’s going to take the entire 20 seconds just to pick it up once LOL. But I see your pick is fast. I’ll get to a respectable point soon - need practice.
I could definitely see that being brutal. Unfortunately my bags are 120 and 165-ish so I’d either have to move stupid fast or add some sand to my 120lb bag. The 120lb one is in a 250lb bag so it’s floppy as hell, makes it super hard to handle. The 165lb is packed tight.
Haha, hey man, if you’re putting 100% into it that’s perfect. A full 20 seconds of work, chill for a few seconds, then do it again!
The pick for 120 is decently quick. I can pretty much one-motion it into rack if I set it up beforehand on the ground. The 165 takes some effort though. Once I get comfortable throwing the 165 over my shoulder I’m going to add sand to the 120.
Like anything it’ll take some time. I remember the first time taking the 165 for a walk I thought my hamstrings were going to pop off haha. You’ll get there man.
Haha that hell carry was so ugly, your face and movements are so familiar, when I get hammered I’m the same, it’s like I’m going to finish by sheer force of will, but I’m going to hate every second of it, and it’s going to be done with loathing that’s reflected in body posture.
I’m thinking about adding in a “cheat” day to bring calories up a bit. I’ll allow one meal with direct carbs. It may be once a week or once every couple weeks, nothing crazy, but enough to feel like I’m actually trying to gain weight. I haven’t weighed myself but I feel like I’m still on a downward trend.
So, tonight was cheat number one
Not sure how much stew beef is in there, but I’m guessing the better part of a pound. 5 pieces of bacon split between the two, 2 scoops of sour cream per tortilla and half an avocado per tortilla. Threw some shredded cheddar on there too.
@boilerman Enjoy! It’s an especially valuable training protocol when winter takes away your opportunity to go much further. And absolutely get that keg into gear!
Meant to tell you that we did the bison stew the other night, and it was another hit. The whole family seems to favor bison to beef these days. And on that note, I’m looking up some keto bison sloppy joes, because that sounds amazing for some reason.
@alex_uk It’s so much the opposite of fun. If it didn’t slash my elbows to pieces, I’d play with the sandbag even more often because of that.
I still haven’t pulled the trigger on the bison from piedmontese. Maybe I’ll get myself a little gift for Christmas.
I’ve had ground bison before and didn’t notice too much of a difference in flavor or texture between it and beef. Any idea why your family likes it more?
