315x20 back squat, every rep was high, see video. Still happy I hit 20, but I’m doing this again before the next program and sinking these squats to where they should be.
I’m ready to be done with deepwater to be honest. I just want to move on to something new for a while. I’ll definitely circle back around to it after the BBBB and BtM cycles. I think 2 runs of of DW in 10 months is my absolute limit at this point.
@tlgains@anna_5588@SvenG thanks everyone. I’m not counting it, just posting to stay honest and show off my failures. I’ll probably go for it again next week haha.
Failure? Nah bro that ain’t no failure. You tested the waters and you put great effort. I see it as success because you’re prepping your mind for next time, which is when you’ll decimate that puny weight.
He hunted in Saskatchewan, but I’m pretty sure it’s widespread across North America. I dunno though. I don’t know anyone around here who hunts, but I’m sure I’ll try it one day.
You probably have dozens around you. I pay a flat $5/pound, which is a steal considering cuts like tenderloin are included.
I’ve ordered from a couple online vendors in college, and they were good. I cannot say I was a fan of the prices though, haha. Plus I feel like I appreciate the whole animal a lot more this way, by eating the whole animal – heart (delicious), liver, tongue, etc.
From what I’ve read it is pretty bad in the Us Midwest, not as terrible on the coasts. I think it’s mostly dependant on who sends samples in to get tested though. They probably don’t catch even a quarter of the infections…
Complete derail here, but for some good Saskatchewan tunes check out Colter Wall. He has a few albums out that are amazing.
Yeah they’re everywhere, I’m sure haha. That is an amazing price.
Yeah the price is a little bit steeper than the grocery store, but I’d rather give my money to them than Walmart. Also, the quality of the meat is waayyyy better. My dad used to make liver and onions often when I lived at home, and my family has a liver party every year haha. Everyone brings their best liver dish and we eat.
I’ve been super busy these past few weeks. Still getting a decent amount of food in when I can, but I can do better. My main issue is getting called out at random hours of the day and only having my jar of PB. If I end up getting more calls I’ll stop somewhere and grab a bag of beef jerky and a half gallon of milk.
Last week I worked over 70 hours and by the end of today I’ll be over 55, with an additional few hours on a side job tomorrow morning. I’m still the only one on call, and I can’t wait for this company transition to take place so I can breathe a little bit.
I’m not extremely pleased with how these last few weeks have panned out, but such is life. When the schedule gets hectic, I need to find a way to persevere, eat more food and keep my mind right. I’m normally a pretty happy-go-lucky and laid back person but I’ve been pretty irritable and pissed off lately. That needs to change.
Deadlifts are happening today after work, and I should have time to stay on schedule this weekend so I’ll finish up with bench on Monday or Tuesday. That means the new program starts Thursday or Friday of next week. I’ll do a final DW update with pics after this week is done, maybe in my old DW review thread or just in here. I haven’t weighed myself in a month(?) but I’m interested to see where I land.
Diet for the next program is going to stay the same, minus the preworkout carbs. I’m going to shoot for 1-2 days of conditioning on top of the main days. One day will be the belt squat and another movement, the other day will be pwns tabata-hell-on-earth.
Yeah man, sleep has always been good. I go up to bed at the same time every night. It takes me maybe 5 mins to fall asleep once the lights are out and as long as the dog doesn’t bark I won’t wake up until 5:30am or so. Weekends are about the same but I won’t set an alarm. Usually up and moving by 6am though.
Edit: I’m usually up before my alarm. I have it set for 5:40 during the week but I’ll be awake in bed by 5:15 almost every day.
By the end of the day I’m so tired I have a hard time staying up past 10pm. It is a legitimate struggle to stay awake.

Had a very strange and anti climactic deepwater day today. Between set 5 and 6 my wife wanted to talk about a few things, so I took a half hour rest period. It felt VERY odd going from intense, to relaxed, and then having to turn the Deepwater mentality back on. Not complaining or upset she wanted to talk, it was just strange. I was planning on digging deep on set 8, but I just couldn’t muster the right mindset. I hate to say it, but I coasted on those last two sets.
I felt this way last time as well, like I left reps on the table. Kind of upset with these past couple of weeks and my performance. I know I can do better, but there’s always next time.
You’re still doing awesome boilerman!!! All that stuff going on in your life with work and you still try your hardest even though your sets may not be perfect!!! I mean cmon look at this man… running Deep Water while working like 70 hours a week.
It kills me to write this, but deepwater has crushed me. My trap is still painful and my neck is stiff. I feel sick and exhausted. I am waayyy under recovered.
I just haven’t been giving enough respect to my recovery with all the additional stressors lately. I feel like such a failure saying I give up, because I WANT to finish but my body is just not happy right now.
