Let me think… A good, competent, and reputable person in D.C…still thinking…My head is starting to hurt from all the jokes trying to get out at once.
In all seriousness, I don’t know the area, but you could always check with a local university exercise phys. department. They may have a hydrostatic weighing tank to test with as well as the calipers.
Regarding testing with calipers, the more sites, the better. The ACSM guides give a 7-site equation that I use. I have programmed the equation into an excel spreadsheet so all you have to do is input the skinfold measurements and it gives you the percent bodyfat.
Take care,
Ryan
Why don’t you just buy some calipers and do it yourself? I think that would be the best in terms of long-term cost effectiveness and accuracy.
Yes, me. Seriously I’ve done thousands of them and I have Lange calipers which are one of the best brands you can buy.
Get one of the boys down in DuPont Circle to hook you up. They might use a different method than you are used to though!
where you at DCB?

If you’re in DC, go see “Maximum Bob” Whelan for a workout at “Whelan Strength Training”.

I work in Annapolis and would be glad to do your body comp measurements. I do 7, 9, 10, and 14 site measurements. I’d do all 14 sites and then give you your % using the formula’s for all the other site protocols so you have an average. Usually the more sites, the more accurate measurement.

Go to his website and contact him for details. It’s the “natural strength” site, if you search for him by name you’ll find it.
I think it is in a basement in a Chinatown area or something, with a back alley where they do sand bag work.
This is where you’ll find some hard core work ethic.
