Ink- LOL @ Side Straddle Hop… that is so dumb! The first time I heard that was at Jump School in fort benning. I was like “What the hell is a side straddle hop?” LOL I jogged to the gym and felt pretty good. its still a little bit sore but it felt better yesterday than it has in a while.

Got some stuff done with school. Had an appointment this morning to talk to my advisor and get me set up. They still hadnt received my transcripts from my other schools and had my profile locked till I could get evaluated. That was annoying but I had transcripts with me so I gave them to the guy… Only problem was that one of them wasnt “official” because I had to open it and make copies for my academy application (LAME)
So I had to drive to the school and wait around to get a rush order of my transcripts. Finally got those and took them over to the advisor. He put a rush order on my evaluation so that should be done my tuesday or wednesday of next week and the class starts the first week of July so it’s cutting it a little bit close.
After that I went to one of my old favorite spots, Wings N Things and got the 5 strip combo… so awesome! I love me some wings.
Oh fuck dude, I just said to my wife, YESTERDAY, how horribly I used to eat toward the end of my Marine Corps career in San Deezy, and how I would eat the 9 pcs hot boneless wing/strips plus breadsticks from Wings N Things. Fuck that place is good! No wonder I was a fat mess, haha.

So I got to the gym today for a little bit of legs. I’m still frustrated by this hip thing cause it could “feel” it while I was jogging to the gym. Got there and did 30 minutes of stretching/ART stuff to loosen up things. I think it helped but I know I need to keep working on my hips and my quads are a bit tight.
I found this cool video blog that has lots of good tips/techniques for finding/fixing weaknesses. Its geared toward crossfit so I wont post the link but if anyone is interested PM me and I’ll send ya the link.
Ok so after the crazy amount of stretching and release work I did a goblet squat/KB swing warm up
45lb KB Goblet Squat x 20
26lb KB Swing x 20 each arm
did that 3 times through back to back to get the blood flowing, warm up my hips, glutes and hammies… was feeling nice after that.
Front Squat:

185 x 10, 10, 10, 10 Didnt want to push these much. Just wanted to get some reps in and keep things light
Single Leg Stiff Leg DL’s w/ 50lb DBs
4 x 8 my hammies and glutes were en fuego after this. Everything felt really good. I liked it.
After that I did a little bit more stretching and rolled home. Hopefully with some more prehab stuff I’ll be back to normal soon and can start to hit legs hard. Going up to LA tonight for some event thing that my fiance’s brother is doing and then going to this design expo/conference thing tomorrow with my fiance. Should be fun.
School deadline stress is the worst.
I had an identical problem with my transcript and getting into university. I don’t get my transcript with the degree posted until August, and that’s when classes start. I need to attend Orientation before that though and my scholarship won’t stick if I skip a semester.
Luckily the university accepted me despite not having the transcript. Yay.
But then I see that my scholarship has new community service requirements.
Hmm, how the hell am I going to get community service hours being a full-time student, working full-time, training and whatever else obligations.
Damn, the amount of work I do at my job for that poor pay is basically community service anyway.

DF- LOLZ! That pic is awesome. I’m almost positive that I cant beat that but I’ll see what I can do.
Jams- I use a “clean” grip. I only “grip” with my middle three fingers and line them up about an inch or two into the curling of the bar. Basically in the rack/top position of a power/hang clean. It took a while before I could use that grip because of poor wrist flexibility but if you just stick with it you’ll get the grip. I think its just uncomfortable at first and people quit on it.

Greg… do you feel like dropping down to bw on dips and repping out works well? Whenever I do dips I ramp up to a max weight for 3-5 reps, but I feel like I have something left in the tank after that. For some reason I frequently will do that type of thing with bench/OHP but never have with dips.
Blaze- At my best I’ve benched 315 x 5 and then 335 x 3 to end the same bench session so… yeah I’m just trying to get back there. The “hernia” is feeling better man. Not 100% but its much better than before.
MiM- Thanks Yeah I’m not doing a “program” persay. I’ve done them before in the past and I’ll probably do one again soon… I just have trouble doing a “program” that has you lifting prescribed weights every day when I dont have a lifting partner/spotter. its hard to really push on some exercises without a partner/spotter ya know? Wedding stuff is going ok, heading up there in a couple weeks to check out some vendors so that should be fun. If business booms for the bootcamp? That would be awesome! the more the merrier

Ink- When I make my video I’ll need some background “trainees” to do the exercises. That way when I get tired I can stop and pretend that I’m just walking around to check the other peoples form but I’m really just catching my breath lol
scj- It depends on what you mean by “works well”? haha I like to keep my reps high on dips. I dont like doing low rep work for dips so I try to stay in the 8-12 rep range while doing weighted dips. If I’m doing BW then I hit sets of 20 at least cause anything less doesnt do anything (for me) I like doing the “drop set”/burn out set for dips. I always get a really good pump from dips and I like getting a lot of blood flowing into the area after I hit chest “heavy”.

I’ve recently been trying my hand at some couponing but it is nothing like the people on the show. They’re pros! Ringing up a total of $1,200 and then after all the coupons it comes out to $5!!! INSANE!!!

Re: Extreme Couponers, yeah my wife lives that shit. She’s gotten into couponing the past couple of weeks and is already making some super deals. She got shampoo, conditioner, 7 vitamin waters, lady products, 3 body washes, 3 deoderants, 2 packs of pullups (any day my 5yo wants to sleep through the night without peeing her pants…), toothpaste, and I think 1 other thing for $20 last night. The pullups alone are usually $9 a pack. She’s on a couple message boards/websites that help out with the coupon thing a lot, and the “normal” people that do it are actually mad at the extreme freaks that do it because they’re ruining coupon policies for everyone else. Still a crazy show, that’s fo sho.

One of the Boi guys (KosanFalcon) goes to GNC at the beginning of the month (additional gold card discounts) and looks for close-dated items (close to expiration dates and big discount), he has pictures of two different reciepts where it says: “Paid: $95.00, Saved:$735” or something ridiculous like that. lol.
