I liked them when I was just coming off injury, actually, but they’re one of the exercises that got replaced since. I think I will do the YTWLs, though. One thing that didn’t really do anything for me was external rotations. What do you think of them?

At least your fiancee doesn’t go bat-shit crazy on you when others look at you.
Also, I for one can’t wait for future posts when the word “fiancee” is replaced with wife. Awwwwwwww <3

I won’t say that you’re making more of this PAT than you need to. You already got it in the bag. But sure, if you’re going to make others look bad anyway, might as well go all out lol
Because you will pass with such flying colors, you’ll be called Rayne Bow.

MAsteve- thanks for the kind words. I’ll do my best and then let the cards fall where they may

Heavy- I was doing external rotations with bands when I was in rehab. I’m not really sure how much they helped honestly. I stopped doing them and stuck with the floor slides and YTWLs instead. They were good for the initial post surgery rehab but they didnt make it into my long term routine.

Nikki- hahaha no she doesnt. She’s not a jealous person (thank God) and she knows that I would never cheat on her and that I’m going home with her… she’s really cool about stuff like that and we laugh about it. I’m also excited to be officially wifed up… less than 6 month! Woot Woot! I hope you’re right about the test… I’ll be going balls to the wall the whole time so we’ll see how it ends up.

OK so today I went to the gym today and I WAS NOT feeling it. Maybe it was not enough food? or general fatigue (been running more lately and not logging it) but I had zero energy.

Rode the bike for a warm up, stretched, foam rolled, shoot some hoops, did a few jumps (not getting very high, sad face) and was just struggling.

TDC
135 x 3 x 6 (i was going for speed on these. Didnt up the weight like last time I just upped the speed of each rep to work on my conditioning)

Shoulder Lat raise machine:
80 x 12
90 x 12
110 x 12
130 x 10

DB Incline
70 x 15
80 x 15
90 x 12 (no energy)

Dips:
BW x 3 x 15

I felt like poop. decided to hit some weighted step ups to prepare for the stairs portion of the PAT

Step Ups:
60lb DBs x 10 each leg… 4 sets

then rolled home. Definitely a blah day but hopefully i’ll be better for tomorrow. I didnt want to do any heavy lifting this week, just wanted a little more endurance stuff so tomorrow will probably be some slight conditioning and then a hodge podge of other exercises.

whatevs

Best of luck on your upcoming test man. Get well rested and obliterate that bastard.

sounds like someone needs a day off.

Oh Greg, this test needs to come quickly so you can get some rest.

awwwwwwww

i just puked a little…

This is ours…before your time though.

^ Oh Mimzy, that’s a favorite of mine! I often put that one on when I’m running.

Gregron - Happy for ya about the wedding plans. I predict you’ll be the future ID of Tnation, workin’ in how much he loves his wife in every thread. LOL! Getting married was the best decision I’ve ever made.

About your low energy day, I had one yesterday. I have no idea why. Maybe not enough carbs. Some days seem to be like that. I was all jazzed to go monkey on my new widegrip pullups and could barely get singles. Maybe you just didn’t eat enough to compensate for the endurance stuff you’ve been doin’.

Too much happiness and optism in here

Will not return

+runs off to own log to devise evil plot+

come on dud we are waiting with baited breath! incase i’ve totally fucked up guess of time difference ether good luck or how did it go?

MiM- hahaha  I havent heard that song in forever! Old School… I like it

PowerPuff- I’ll try and harness my inner ID after the wedding (maybe I can even get me one of those super awesome-o 3000 custom made ID avi’s) Arent low energy days the worst? I think it was my diet TBH.

Ct Rock- Vampires can be happy too right? (looking forward to seeing this evil plot unfold. muuwaahahahahaha)

MAsteve- Whats up brother? hahaha I had my test about an hour after your post… so thanks for the good luck… and heres the “how did it go”

Little Update

Had my Physical Ability Test this morning. Not sure exactly how many guys were out there trying out (there were two groups, an 8:30 and a 10) I was in the 10 o’clock group.

From talking to a bunch of the other guys I found out that a lot of guys there had ran through the course before. There were a few events that I wasted some time on (shitty gloves that kept slipping on the ladder raise and bad technique on the sledge hammer part) so I know that with a few more practice runs I’ll bring my time down.

From all of the people that I talked to/heard talking about times the fastest time I heard was a 3:18 which was ran by one of my good friends. I was really hoping to break into the 2’s but ran through and finished in a 3:04. I didnt hear of anyone elses times that were close to that but there could have been in the 8:30 group? (i got there early but didnt watch all of the 8:30 guys go)

I talked to one of the guys who did the academy last year and asked him what the fastest time was out of his academy and he told me that one guy ran a 2:52 during the last week of the academy and that another guy did it that same day in 2:53.

That made me feel better knowing that on my very first time ever doing it I was 12 seconds off the fastest time out of the entire academy last year. If I make it in I guarantee that I’ll smoke that time (I’ll also try to find out what the fastest time ever at that academy is and be gunning for that)

Oral Interview is Tuesday afternoon and if I make it I should know by next Friday I think? So far thats all I got

oh yeah and in my group I saw 6(?) guys and 1 girl (the only girl trying out) that didn’t make it. The cut off time was 5:54

The last event was a 175lb dummy drag and that really Effed a lot of people up. That was probably the easiest part for me but there were quite a few people there that probably weighed less than the dummy LOL

There were 2 guys that were FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDGED up looking when they got done! Good thing the teachers were all FF’s and Medics cause homeboy had to be carried off and needed medical attention LOL.

It was a lot of fun though. Met some new peeps that seemed cool.

congrats on kicking ass Greg, I thought muscles were not functional!!!

Other than the female, who the hell is less than 175!?

Oh, you’d be suprised at the number of adult men who somehow manage to maintain under 170. Case in point, my good friend that I went camping with this past Memorial Day weekend was 150 or so.

Kickass work Greg. Very good considering there were events you had never trained before, awesome work.

Good for YOU!!!

yay…

Must be odd…speaking of which, Dove, if you keep up this weight loss you will be a gasp LIGHTWEIGHT powerlifter! Dude, are you sure thats what you want? :frowning:

woot woot! Just checking in to make sure you dominated the PAT today - which you did!

Excellent work, sir, excellent work. I’m sure the overachiever in you will find a bunch of things you could’ve done better, but I don’t doubt for a second that you got noticed.

Good luck on the ahem oral exam (giggles)
