Agreed, nice work Greg.

Yeah, I suppose we are just chopped liver at this point. Oh well, we still get that cool blinding yellow background to our posts.

Fancy front squatting there, cheif. How them quads feeling today?

still reading ya!

Yay pic!

How are the quads feeling today?

How do you do a drop set with squats? Do you tilt the bar so the weights fall off each time you wanna lower the weight?

MiM- No problem MiMsy  hopefully they could be of some help

Sam- We ARE The All Other Loggers!!! Spartan front kick Yeah the front squats were rough.

DoveofWar- I like the yellow background. It makes it so much easier to find the loggers posts dont ya think? Maybe we could work in some other colors… I’d rock a hot pink background. None of that ‘bublegum’ colored pink… more neon for sure

Ink- The leggos are feeling a little sore today but I am always more sore two days after vs the day after. I bet tomorrow I’ll be struggling for sure

Nikki- The pic was taken specifically with your post in mind… glad it didnt disappoint lol Quads are a little sore

Ct. Rock- for the “drop sets” i just rack it. strip off the weight and get right back under the bar and keep going. I guess there is a 10-15 second break while i strip the plates off?

Getting my whole application all put together for the fire academy. I got all the copies made of my certs and all that, filled out the app and almost have my whole package finished. Its pretty exciting and also makes me a little nervous. If I dont make it into the top 40 and get chosen for the academy I’m going to be pretty bummed TBH. We shall see though. Maybe i should include some of these “progress pics” with my app and include a mustache pic… so they see that I’m bringing the total package lulz

If you want to use me as a reference, it’ll help, I’m sure. I’ll write a referral too:

Dewdz,

Greg’s a great guy, and his abz are hawt, fo real. Let him in to pwn all the newbz in your academy.

kthxbye

Signed,
Former Sergeant of Marines/HNIC (I hope you know what that means)

Boom, roasted.

Dear Firemen Academy,
Greg is the BOMB! He’s super quick pulling his hose, has a lot of motivational one-liners, and only hurts himself every once in a while.

He’ll make a great charity calender model because his abs are insane, and he has a spectacular hip dip - please make him the month of August.

Ever yours,
Mascherano

Seriously, you’ll get in Greg - no doubt!!

Meanwhile, nice quad pic! That Drop set is KILLER.

And I totally feel you on the team sports - not being in season is torture, and a few weeks before season starts you get all itchy to get back in the game. Its the best! It also give you an extra goal to work towards with your other training - stronger, faster, more agile, etc. I honestly don’t even know who I’d be if I didn’t play team sports throughout my life. And you’ll def beat that team for the 3rd time!!

Dear Fireman Academy,

Dont make me come over there.

DF

The internet is complete.

Ink- Thanks for the referral man… I’ll make sure and include it

Masch- I dont know if I will include your referral but I will definitely be printing it out and hanging it on my fridge

DF- Hahahaha! I’ll tell them that if they dont pick me you are going to come over and deadlift all the fire trucks. that’ll show em

OK so I didnt get a chance to update yesterday so I will be doing that now. Went out for a sushi dinner with my lady last night and then had some things to take care of so that explains the lack of update.

I downloaded the new Lonely Island cd “Turtleneck and Sweater” yesterday and it was the soundtrack for my training… AMAZING! hahaha It was absolutely hilarious and actually had me LOLing during my workout a few times. I love it! This song was my jam all workout:

I dedicated it to my very own mom… Love you Mom

I started with Rocks DTC (devils triangle complex)
135 x 6
185 x 6, 6 (video of the last set)

That was the third set and as you can see I had to use my straps. I struggled during the second set and knew it was time to get my strap ons! lol

Cleans:
185 x 3, 3, 3, 3

Pull Ups:
4 x 10

Cable Row with Wide Grip Attatchment: slow neg and held the pause… did that with all my back exercises and I could DEFINITELY feel it
I think i worked up to 185 x 8-12 for two sets

DB Rows:
120 x 12, 12
130 x 10

Hammer Strength High Row:
worked up to 3PPS x 10, 10

Lat Pull Down: (partials)
top set was 150. Lats were pumped

Then it was curls time.

DB Alt Curls
50/55/60 x 8

hands were destroyed feeling. I think this week I grew like 6 more callouses yesterday. Not a bad little workout. Gotta get some more stuff done and then i’m gonna try to hit the gym for a quick workout before the holiday weekend.

Flying up to San Francisco this afternoon and then heading to Santa Cruz. We’re going to spend the weekend at my fiances families beach house up there. It should be a lot of fun. Hopefully I can get a little sun, maybe go for a couple runs on the beach, and get some color on this pasty white skin lol.

I wont be hitting the gym up there and will probably be indulging in some adult beverages… oh yeah and hitting up this Bakery up there… its called Gales and its amazeballs. NOM NOM NOM!!!

Here is a pic from yesterday. That shirt is way too tight in the shoulders/arms now :frowning: sucky cause I really like that workout shirt and I dont think I’ll be able to wear it for much longer… I dont like when shirts are tight on my shoulders/arms like that.

Letter 2

Dear Fireman,

Greg can handle his hose better than any other man you got. In fact, he wil provide tips to them on how to better handle their hoses, should he be accepted. Greg is so good, he even taught his fiancee and Ct. Rock how to handle his hose.

Sincerely,

T-Nation

When I first did the DTC, snatch grip first, when I got to the rows they felt like nothing. Doing it clean grip first, I actually feel the rows a LOT, so that’s pretty cool. Fuck you for doing it with 185. I got 1 set with 135 and I thought I was going to die. My high pull was like a power shrug, but damnit I’m tryin! I’ll probably do that with a warthog next week, or at least my .300 WSM Tikka T3 just for the lulz
