DF- I’m not exactly sure what that means but I love it!! Thanks for cheerin me up big guy.
Ink- do they have co-Ed divisions in the Marines? I was in an all male div in bootcamp but there we’re mixed ones around too.
MiM- that’s a cool story about how you guys met. Pretty neat (yeah I said neat) didn’t exactly “kill it” in the gym today but it’s a kinda cool story.
K-Man- hahaha you know! Those other classmates were so jelly. It’s always nice when you get hit on (especially from attractive older ladies)… It’s such a little confidence booster. As cool as me someday? Sounds like you’re already there man.
Ok so I went to the gym today and my legs were incredibly sore. My plan was to get to the gym early, get my legs loosened up, smash up a back workout and be done when my fiancé showed up so I can put her through her workout. That’s been our normal routine 4 days a week and I like it.
So I got to the gym and rode the bike for 15 minutes. I really cranked up the resistance and was putting out. I havent ridden the bike in forever and it was a good little warm up. My legs felt a lot better after the bike. Next I did 15 minutes of the most painful foam rolling of my life. Seriously, it sucked. After that I left the little stretching room… And this is where my gym trip got interesting…
So as I’m leaving I see another gym goer lying on her bak with feet up. She’s got two trainers sound her and another gym goer is kneeling down talking to her. I see that they’ve got a cold wet towel on her forehead. I was gonna go over and see what was up but I figured they ha everything under control. I started walking towards the freeweight area when I had a feeling I should go back up there.
I went up and asked the trainer what was going on. I told her that I was an EMT and was seeing if they needed any help. She said the other gym goer who was talking to her was an ICU nurse which I thought was good. He asked her like 3 questions and then said “ok drink some water and rest up” then left. I talked to the trainer for a little and then started talking to the patient. I asked her a few questions and she was barely responsive. I told her I was an EMT and went through the OPQRST and got a SAMPLE history on her.
Apparently she was running on the treadmill and the next thing she knew she woke up on the floor. I asked the trainer if she’d called 911 yet and she said “no. Should I?” I told her to call 911 right away and she did. The lady ended up throwing up multiple times and was falling in and out of consciousness. I stayed with her and held c-spine for her since she had obviously hitten her head and was having head/neck pain. After 10 minutes or so the fire department/paramedics showed up and took over. I told one of the medics that I was an EMT and gave him the rubdown of what had happened before thwy arrived.
They ended up having to stretcher her out of there because she was all messed up. I hope that she’s ok and that nothing was seriously wrong. The trainers/staff of the gym definitely should have called 911 but I wonder what their policy is? Aaaaannyway, so after all this I eLk downstairs and here comes my fiancé. I didn’t get to hit my eokout but while she went to the locker room to change I did 5x10 pull ups and then I did 15 more minutes on the elliptical with her for her warm up. I put here through a good workout and then we did abs/stretched together and went home.
It was an eventful day at the gym and my shoulder could use an extra day off anyway. Gonna get after it tomorrow at the gym. Lakers time now!
Sorry for the wall of text
