Body by Gregron

Nice squats up there! Look at all those reps and drop sets. You’re giving me ideas Gregron. I’m planning to squat and bench tomorrow.

Nice stealth photography skills! I was going to make a joke, but now I can’t even pretend that’s me! LOL! She does seem to have quite the hot cougar bod.

Oh shit son, let me just grab my guitar and we’ll saddle up on outta here! hahaha WINNING!

Hey, how goes it?

Back to the Navy thing…I pretty much did shit work. All the dirty jobs you could ever think of really. First two years I was scraping barnacles and painting subs…second two years I was laying tile aboard the USS Nimitz.

hehehe, laying tile, hehehehe

Are you on a program, or do you just do whatever?? That was a big jump from 135 to 225 in the squats.

I wish 135 felt like my warm up weight.

Pretty solid workout Greg.
Regarding preworkouts/stims, I just take caffeine pills. One 200mg pill 30 mins pre-workout gives me a boost in energy for my workout for sure.

If your nutrition has been bad as well (unfortunately, mine has too) you could at least try to make sure you’re getting in some carb source an hour or so before your workout, always seems to make a big difference in how much energy I have.

Whenever I get in a training funk, I look at my before pictures, read a couple motivational rants (one of Alpha’s, “Merry Christmas Bob”, or one by Dante from DC usually), and watch a couple bb videos pre-workout. If you look at my youtube channel, I’ve got a fair amount of motivational lifting videos favorited, so If you want some material, it’s there lol.

Still jelly of your bench numbers. How’s the training for firefighting going?

Grr I hate when you play these disappearing acts on me ;(

I’ll be able to do some drop sets on bench one day you know. I might just throw a whole bunch of 5# plates and strip off a plate each side.
You’re not the only cool guy.

Sorry about your training funk. Maybe it’s just stress. If anything, after the wedding and whatnot, training should be back on track. I can’t imagine the stress you’re going through, especially trying to set up the TN registry. Must be a Bee Eye Tea Sea Aye-ch <---- LMFAO 0:-)

HAHAHA! This is the cutest. And you were a blonde! SO adorbs.

Your last training session was great, Greg - even with you feeling kinda “meh.” The squat drop set looks killer. Feel the burn!

Anyways, sounds like you got a lot going on, so its understandable that training might be off. And if you’ve been eating a lot of bad-for-you foods, that could just leave you feeling more tired and stuff, no? I definitely think switching things up might help. Find a new challenge to focus on for a bit.

lol! love the cougar stealth shot!

PowerPuff- I think that dropset was a bad idea because my legs are wrecked! they are so sore. I switched up to a closer stance to hit my quads more and they are thanking me today for it… maybe not the best idea to do squats on friday and monday? lol

Ink- Saddle up partner! yeeehaaaw! (no homo)

MiM- I’m not on a set program I’m kinda just doing whatever. I think I might start a set program. Maybe that’ll help me get out of this little funk thing I’m in. Any suggestions? Maybe I can just do whatever you’re doing? You meet your man in bootcamp? Were you a co-ed division?

Blaze- I might try to get on the caffeine pills thing. Im weary of that because I have a really high tolerance for pain and drugs I guess? when I had surgery they gave me vicodine and that did absolutely nothing. I can wake up in the middle of the night, chug a whole Monster energy drink, and then fall right back asleep like nothing… its weird lol (actually done it once)

The FF training is going good I guess. I think part of why I’m in this little funk that I’m in now is because there arent going to be any Fire classes over summer so I wont be able to finish up my cert before the Academy would start in August. Another this is that my wedding is on December 3rd and that would be like the last week of the academy if I get in. That would really suck since the wedding isnt in SD so i dont know how that would work? I’m kinda nervous about that whole thing but I’m still going to try to get into this one cause who knows when I’d get another chance ya know? Kinda stressful when your possible career conflicts with your wedding. sucky.

Nikki- hahah I havent disappeared. I just didnt get to the gym yesterday cause my shoulder was hurting all day. I took some Motrin (MiM and Inky know what thats all about… that stuffs like candy for military) and iced it up. Its feeling normal now so I’m gonna get to the gym today and probably do back. Dont really want to do any shoulder stuff with it so I’m thinking back it is. Aye-ch! Nice! I like it… Ill have to use that next time.

Masch- Dont let my current looks fool you maschy… I used to be quite the heartbreaker back in my “glory days” lol. Yeah the squat drop set was, as they say in England, Oooooooooribulllllllllll! My quads havent been this sore in a while, kinda good but kinda sad. I’ll chalk it up to the closer stance. I think I’m gonna get on a regular set program soon. I’ve got the 5/3/1 book and maybe I’ll get on that for a while and work on building some more strength or something?

OK well I’m gonna head to the gym in like an hour. gonna try to get a good session in and I’ll report back with the findings. Thanks for checkin out my log peeps.

Enjoy some lulz, take the sting of a rough training day away

Yeah, it’s called the Navy  j/k you guys <3

DF, you got the funniest shit ever man, how the hell do you find those gems?

Epic lulz are epic!

I’m a fan of doin whatever and doin whatever seems to be workin for ya!

I’m not on a set program either and I rather like it that way. I have days where I train certain lifts and accessories, but I pretty much make it up as I go. I do keep a log book and I make sure to beat it some way each week.

As for meeting the hubby, we literally bumped into each other in the chow hall. It was during service week. I was carrying a stack of trays to be restocked and he was carrying dirty dishes back to the scullery. He is 6’5" so I had to look up at him…
I just gave him a dirty look and he helped me pick up the trays…we didn’t see each other again until liberty weekend, and then at service school we kinda hung out but just as friends…

How we met up again after that is cute. But I can tell you in my log instead of cluttering yours!

Hope you killed it in the GYM!!!

ok Ink not the best picture of the Super Cougar (powerpuff:) but it was the best I could do without getting busted. It seems like she knows every single over 30 lifter at the gym and they all chat her up constantly (probably cause they’re trying to get some)

this was taken through the mirror… super sneaky. [/quote]
I had a cougar (not super :/) overly groping my ass today in nursing class. It was during a “demonstration” that i happened to be picked for.

All the girls in the class laughed at me afterwards. I just went alpha and said “you just wish you were grabbing some of this slaps ass

Ah, attractive older women.

I’ll be as cool as you someday greg.

DF- I’m not exactly sure what that means but I love it!! Thanks for cheerin me up big guy.

Ink- do they have co-Ed divisions in the Marines? I was in an all male div in bootcamp but there we’re mixed ones around too.

MiM- that’s a cool story about how you guys met. Pretty neat (yeah I said neat) didn’t exactly “kill it” in the gym today but it’s a kinda cool story.

K-Man- hahaha you know! Those other classmates were so jelly. It’s always nice when you get hit on (especially from attractive older ladies)… It’s such a little confidence booster. As cool as me someday? Sounds like you’re already there man.

Ok so I went to the gym today and my legs were incredibly sore. My plan was to get to the gym early, get my legs loosened up, smash up a back workout and be done when my fiancé showed up so I can put her through her workout. That’s been our normal routine 4 days a week and I like it.

So I got to the gym and rode the bike for 15 minutes. I really cranked up the resistance and was putting out. I havent ridden the bike in forever and it was a good little warm up. My legs felt a lot better after the bike. Next I did 15 minutes of the most painful foam rolling of my life. Seriously, it sucked. After that I left the little stretching room… And this is where my gym trip got interesting…

So as I’m leaving I see another gym goer lying on her bak with feet up. She’s got two trainers sound her and another gym goer is kneeling down talking to her. I see that they’ve got a cold wet towel on her forehead. I was gonna go over and see what was up but I figured they ha everything under control. I started walking towards the freeweight area when I had a feeling I should go back up there.

I went up and asked the trainer what was going on. I told her that I was an EMT and was seeing if they needed any help. She said the other gym goer who was talking to her was an ICU nurse which I thought was good. He asked her like 3 questions and then said “ok drink some water and rest up” then left. I talked to the trainer for a little and then started talking to the patient. I asked her a few questions and she was barely responsive. I told her I was an EMT and went through the OPQRST and got a SAMPLE history on her.

Apparently she was running on the treadmill and the next thing she knew she woke up on the floor. I asked the trainer if she’d called 911 yet and she said “no. Should I?” I told her to call 911 right away and she did. The lady ended up throwing up multiple times and was falling in and out of consciousness. I stayed with her and held c-spine for her since she had obviously hitten her head and was having head/neck pain. After 10 minutes or so the fire department/paramedics showed up and took over. I told one of the medics that I was an EMT and gave him the rubdown of what had happened before thwy arrived.

They ended up having to stretcher her out of there because she was all messed up. I hope that she’s ok and that nothing was seriously wrong. The trainers/staff of the gym definitely should have called 911 but I wonder what their policy is? Aaaaannyway, so after all this I eLk downstairs and here comes my fiancé. I didn’t get to hit my eokout but while she went to the locker room to change I did 5x10 pull ups and then I did 15 more minutes on the elliptical with her for her warm up. I put here through a good workout and then we did abs/stretched together and went home.

It was an eventful day at the gym and my shoulder could use an extra day off anyway. Gonna get after it tomorrow at the gym. Lakers time now!

Sorry for the wall of text

Damn Greg. It’s a good thing you were there. That right there is a legitimate reason for missing a workout. You’re awesome. Keep doing work!

More laughs for ya

For your epic doings at the gym I reward the!

Sounds like she was lucky you where there!

Cool log, I’ve been enjoying reading, your putting up some serious numbers there mate.

That dip and chin pyramid looks really tough, i’d be tempted to try it some time.

Great job on being the great samaritan. Next time I find myself in a situation where I could help I’m going to think “What would Gregron do?” then do the right thing lol. ICU nurse and didn’t call 911 eh? smh.

I did enjoy this line:

"I told one of the medics that I was an EMT and gave him the rubdown of what had happened before thwy arrived. "

Is rubdown some kind of EMT lingo or is it what I think it is…?

Seriously though, I like knowing there are still people out there that actually give a fuck about others.
