chalk is good. It helps with sweaty palms. I use chalk for deadlifting…chalk does not make the difference between being able to lift it or not. There is also the knurling of the bar to consider (then you get sexy callouses like I have)

last thing I want is to have a bar slip on me because of sweaty palms.

never used it with DB’s… tho.

I don’t use chalk and I go to Urban Active so the bars are pretty much smooth so as not to mar the hands of the gym bunnies.

And yea, I wouldn’t kick Carmen out of bed.

Chalk is not cheating. For me on heavy deadlifts, at least, chalk is the difference between comfort and horrible bloody hands.

Carmen is beautiful, but I wouldn’t know what the hell to do with her. Shane, maybe? I like the swagger.
