I hadn’t seen this posted and was going to put it in the “anyone over 50 still compete” thread, but I thought it was awesome enough to get it’s own thread.
This is was I want to do when I grow up.

Damn… I don’t even know what to say. That’s beyond awesome and inspiring but at the same time I hate it and it makes me feel weak.
Ditto here. Impressed as hell, but still very jealous. Of both the lift and that awesome stache.
old man strength
hmm, i want to pull that before i’m 24. and still be pulling it when i’m his age(not without pulling a shit ton more in between)
I truly wonder how long someone can maintain this type of strength throughout their life for… Is it safe to say Bob is chemically assisted?
If there was a powerlifting federation that took into account mustache awesomeness and age, this guy would be Donnie Thompson.
Damn man 64 year old man shouting OH YA OH YA! lol thats just awesome man…he’s got that mentality.
he also squats 500 and benches 360 raw.

I just love when guys want to say “oh hes on Roids”.Spoken like a true short time novice. It isnt a issue of him being “ON”.The guy is 64 years old and still tearing it up. Nice way of showing the guy disrespect.Maybe you need to worry more about your own lifts.
That’s fucking insane. Isnt Louie Simmons pulling around 700 nowadays?

Hmm you know he may be chemically assisted. You know how much it matters? It doesnt matter at all. Now, GTFO.

I should let this go but I cant. Lets get down to it.The only reason you bring it up is because you cant deal with the fact some 64 year old can outlift your ass under the table! So what if hes chemically assisted? He still had to put in the fucking work!FUCK i lift drugfree and that my choice. But I sure as hell dont think I am beter then anyone else. The amount of disrespect you show by posting what you did about Mr.Gayner is Bullshit!!

dosen’t matter, he still pulls more weight than you. and for that matter, almost as much as my gym’s best deadlifter. looks like i have a lot of work to do.

I never said it wasn’t impressive. I really do respect this kind of dedication and training. I was just asking a question, that’s all. BTW, you’re not doing much for the argument against roid rage, relax homie, go drink some milk and squat a little, everything’s going to be OK.

I’m pretty sure Bob Gayner has an email, you can tell him all about your feelings for him, and how you valiantly upheld his honor even in a situation where it wasn’t being attacked.

I never said he didn’t work hard. I, for one, understand how hard you must work to pull 680. I can only pull 425. I am new. I just asked a fucking question, that’s all. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT, YOURE IN LUCK, I bet on top of the roids, Bob might also do Cialis, so all your dick riding hasn’t gone to waste!
In conclusion, everyone that reacted like a baby should apologize. I do find Bob Gayner admirable and an inspiration to all powerlifters. Should have made that clearer earlier, my fault.
“Bob might also do Cialis, so all your dick riding hasn’t gone to waste!”
ZING!!! haha
I always wondered how long someone could really keep this stuff up. I started late in the game (39) and keeping thinking how bad it’s gonna suck when I am hitting the strongest I have been in my life to then start to fall off some because of age.
But seeing a video like that, shows I still have a long time left to lift as heavy as I want.

I just went from hating you to you being my favorite poster. That shit was hilarious!! Haha

So let me see if I understand you point of view. You admit it is your at fault for not making what you ment clear. And you feel that somehow you have been" wronged" because some “dick hugger” ripped you a new ass Hole?Because they might have taken your post wrong.First off I dont even know who the hell Mr.Gayner is.So im not like im some fucking fan ,Im a fellow powerlifter who competes. Its called showing respect for a fellow lifter.Somthing I find pretty lacking in B.S. internet sites.Maybe I wouldnt have gone off the deep end if you did make it more clear in the first place. And maybe I would say I was sorry but after you want to rip back to save “face”. Look I understand at your age you feel the need to save" face".But at my age I dont feel the need to to compare my penis to yours.I find it funny to have some one who is 21 tells me I reacted like a baby.Im willing to say im not much younger then your own father or mother.Do I admit going over the top?Yep, ill be the first one to tell you i can be a asshole. To clear the air between us I will say I respect the fact that you admit to your mistake.Plus you did show some “Balls” in standing up for yourself…Since you are new to the game and i should of gave you a break. ill give you some advice to help you out in the future. So you dont get ripped by ASSHOLES like “ME”
When bringing up things like drug use you need to step lightly. To be honest most guys who have been lifting for any amount of time dont care and are just bored with the whole debate .The only ones who do care are new guys and people who want to get on some high horse or “outsiders”.The fact of the matter roids have been part of the sport since the beginning. You deal with it or you dont. And the ones who cant come to terms with it are the ones who want to scream about it and point fingers all the time.In this day and age with all the Feds tested and none the issue is pointless.
The only time it sould be a issue is when a person who is"ON" wants to compete in a tested meets against guys that arent using. The fact is there is to much of a mind set in some people that if your using your a “cheater” Hey if your fed doesnt have a rule against it, more power to you.The fact of the matter its a personal choice.
As for Mr.Ganyer.Is it possible for a man of his age to do what hes doing with out help?Sure.I dont know anything about him.So everything I say in that regards is me talking out my ass.But its possible if at one point he was stronger then what he is now.How long hes been training. The fact that he might have damn good genetics. But its anyones guess.
I think it is BS to always assume drug use by any lifter you are amazed by…
Here is video of 70 year old Fred Peterson dl’ing 680 (he has done over 700 since) basically stiff-leg DL and he addresses the drug questions just prior… his comment and lift are at 4:35 mark…
