Sounds good, I’ve only ever been to 3 meets, they were all run by the APA and went pretty smoothly.
It would be cool to have a group though.

Had 4 chains per side on every set after 135. The 265 set felt very very heavy, im gonna take a shot in the dark and say it was 325 at the top, and 295 at the bottom. When I tried 315 it didnt feel anywhere near as heavy as todays sets…

And I know ive been benching alot, thats cause my coach wants me to do something everyday. And theres no way im squatting or deadlifting every other day, haha.

Ill be sticking with 185 from now on. My form was shit with 225, and I was pretty slow. I gotta get alot more speed and explosivness and not worry about the weight im moving. I think 5x5 is a good start.

Had my first meet on tuesday. Took 1st in shot and disk against three teams, shot was 41’ 8", disk was 117’ which was a PR. I was very unhappy with shot, I wanted 45’… I dont know what happened. Im thinking its all the bench pressin that’s wearin me down so much.

I will squat tomorrow or saturday and possibly call it for the week.

Shot and disc seem to be coming along nicely. When i threw i never noticed lifting having an effect, but then again in hs i had one meet over 40’… haha.

Thanks man, no it wasnt a PR, I did 315 a month or so ago.

When I deadlift heavy it really effects my throwing, Ill usually get 3 or 4 feet less then when im fresh. Im not too sure on bench, but I know doing 105 pushups (soon to go up in reps), 200 situps and a 1 mile run before every practice is definitly messing me up…

It’s pretty fun using chains, the new trainer at my school brought some legitamite ones in, there much easier to use then a few dozen small rusty ones. My ass is coming off the bench a wee bit, but it’s not as bad as it looks.

Shot is coming along nice, almost every throw is 41-42’, opposed to high 30’s a few weeks ago. Not a huge improvement, but its something. That’s my trainin for the week, I have 2 meets comin up, one on saturday and tuesday. Might try and squeeze in a mixed squat and DL session wednesday… but it probably wont happen. That is all!

Called it there, want to be able to recover enough and get a good throw session in tomorrow. Would have done power cleans or deadlifts, but I fell on my knee during disk and didnt want to risk injuring it more.

Fouled on a 45’ throw at my last meet… really pissed about that. The 2 throws before were both 41’, and not enough to get me in 1st place against a team (It was a quad meet, took 1st and two 2nd places).

Not sure if I wrote it before, but im pretty set on doing a push/pull meet on June 5th. If im able to get in enough DL sessions before the meet, I think I could get 290/540.
