DaveofWar- Thank you very much. Ive been doing alot of elvated DL’s latley, and it seems to be helping some off the floor. Hopefully it will push my DL into the 550’s.
BlueJay- Ive never used a heeled shoe that I know of. I plan on buying some Rogue do win’s when I come into some money. I love power cleans, so hopefully those will help alot.
Mrodock- Thanks dude, glad to see your still following my log, youve helped out alot these few years.
Headofstate2040- I will gladly race you to 525. I plan on testing around the end of April on DL, so well see then.
Haven’t posted in a while, but ive been keeping up with my lifting. Im just more focued on track right now, and trying to help out the team as much as I can. Some rcent PR’s.
3-14-10: 400x10 deadlift
3-18-10: 350x4 squat
3-21-10: 225x8 floor press
3-22-10: 420x8 deadlift
3-26-10: 225x4 power clean
3-29-10: 385x2 squat
That about sums up training for the last month. Bench stalled again (big suprise there) but my DL has gone up quite a bit. And inspite of rarely training squat for the last few months, I was able to squat 385 for a double today, should put me at about a 405 squat.
Very happy with the power clean though, my form has gotten a little better, so I think that contributed to the 3 rep PR.

385 is over a 405 squat, I hit 365 for a double bout a month ago, and that day i did 405 and had prolly 10 pounds more in me.

I tried responding to your comment on youtube, but I’m not sure it went through.
Anyway here is what I wrote:
I think the deadlift was perfectly good, and it would have been passed. I just want you to be thinking about making sure your knees stay locked and you don’t lean back so far that your knees want to bend. I don’t want you to have the same thing happen to you as happened to me.
I think on the way to 6 plates (which I think could very well happen before the end of the year), it will be important to get good at making the lockout as efficient as possible. Locking the weight as far down your thighs as possible, and getting the shoulders just a little back. I guess one way of putting is lock it out as soon as possible without disrupting your form.
One exercise that I have just started doing but I absolutely love is the Zercher rack pull. I set the bar at about knee level (can set it higher) and try to imitate my deadlift position as closely as possible. Then do sets of 4-8 reps. Hammers the extensors, high hamstrings, and glutes. Absolutely phenomenal exercise that is very infrequently done. I’d use your fat gripz right where your elbows “grip” the bar. If you have access to one, using a fat bar with knee sleeves on your elbows works extremely well.
I’m very partial to Furazhkin’s form, but there are all sorts of great sumo or semi-sumo pullers (video below):
Here is a tremendous example of locking the weight out as soon as possible and extremely efficiently:
Mrodock: Ok, I see what your saying now. I really want to go see that guy I met at a track meet this past winter. Deadlifted 661 at something like 181, hopefully he can add some more pounds to my pull. I will work on posting more vids and fix my lockout.
Whup: Thank you, I was pretty suprised I got it but with everyone screaming and cheering me on there was no way I was gonna drop it.
RM: No, it would just be awesome to do that kind of weight, lol. I will be looking for a 1245 total though, that will put me at 420/295/530. Gotta aim high! That reminds me, will you be interested in doing that meet?

Definitly sounds like it would be a lot of fun, i just need to check as to when all that paperwork and registering stuff is due. Right now i have 1200 in gym lifts so that would be pretty cool if i could get close to that in a meet.

You still have a few months, im positive you could get that total in a meet.
I got 3 or 4 guys possibly going with me. It really sucks being by yourself at a meet, so I could help out with anything you need, just let me know.
