Starting a new log, this will be my third here on T-Nation. Im 17, weigh 230 and have been training seriously for 2 years. Ive competed in 1 powerlifting meet, and plan on doing another very soon. My raw gym PR’s are 395/315/520. I will also log most of my throwing sessions (shot and disc).
Well that’s it for the first day back. Benching tomorrow and then taking the rest of the week off, then ill be startin 5/3/1 back up on monday. Gettin some Rogue do-wins in the mail, hopefully they can fix some of the squat issues ive had in the past.
On a side note, I sharted pretty bad midway through the 405 set. Thought yall should know that.

Look forward to following your progress. You’ve kicked some serious ass over the last year, I bet there will be more of the same![/quote]
Thank ya sir, can’t wait to get my squat up to speed with my deadlift. This summer’s gonna be tuff!
I took one of the sleeves off my other bar, and used it as a DB. It raped my forearms pretty hard, and stopped me from going heavy. Hence the lightweight.
BB curl:
barx12
55x3x12
Good session. Was happy with 275 for 5 reps, very happy. I feel I could have had 315, but my technique was sloppy, and the bar ended up over my neck. Will have it next time for sure. That’s it till monday, I get to try out my do-wins… will be my first time squatting in like 3 months.
Let me start by saying that the do-wins are pretty amazing. I was able to fix up my technique enough so that my legs barely bowed out like they use to. My legs got a huge pump, and my knees and hips felt great. Only thing to do now is work on my core strength and possibly getting a lower bar postition. Then I feel my squat technique will be at a good enough point to progress into the high 400’s.
Did some arms today, threw shot and disc and ran a little.
Shotput: Since I did squats yesterday I died pretty fast, but my first few were out there. Id say two were 44 and one was a 47. Pisses me off cause my season opener put was 44’ even. I had 6 or 7 meets after that and only had a best of 41’10".
I ended the season at the state open with a 44’8" put… and now I figured out what was wrong the entire time. I was always landing with my hips open and wasnt kicking back fast enough with my left foot (these were the major problems).
Disc: Not much to say, first time throwing the 2k and it raped. Can get it out to about 100’ with a stand, but I just cant work it into my spin at the moment. I will stick with the 1.6 (I think thats the HS weight) and once my form and distance is much better I will move onto the 2k.
Bench:
barx10
135x5
185x4
225x3
265x2
295x2- Tie PR
Incline:
135x12
145x12
155x2x12
Right elbow was bothering me a bit so I called it. Not bad that I tied my PR on bench, can’t wait to do that regularly.
Squat’s tomorrow if everything goes as planned. Havent had any good music latley for me to get pumped up to, but ill have some good stuff tomorrow and get buck wild.
Last 3 were ugly, fell forward a little bit. Still happy, went balls to the wall and almost passed out. No more going that heavy, gotta concentrate on form.
Gonna deload until saturday… everything hurts. Maybe came back a little to strong im not sure. Will do some running and core work throughout the week but that’s about it.
I know I was said I was gonna deload, but I felt good today.
Chose to go wider on my stance today, and it worked well. Kept a very arched back and my from was much better overall. Will stick with this wider stance. Got a vid of the 465, it came up pretty smoothly, a little tuff off the ground though. 500 wasn’t a grinder, but it wasnt easy. That’s about it, definitly gonna be burnt out for a few days.
