Sheikos tuff, your gonna be spending up to 3 hours a day in the weightroom. I was able tp squat 365 after it though, which was like a 20 lb. PR. Mrodock and Modi have had pretty good gains on sheiko, and theyve been doing it for a while. I only did it for a month, so cant really comment to much on it.
See the time in the Gym isn’t a big problem, I find that it keeps me out of trouble and off my bike. A 20lb PR in a month? That is awesome, tho I’ve been making 10-15 pounds a month, I would love to try something different.
Umm. Maybe. That was my top set. Anymore higher I would of had to add a belt tho. I don’t think I could of gotten 385x5 without a belt. Why?

I’ve once gotten a 33lb PR on the squat from one month of sheiko.
You should remember, though, that on the days where you have two rounds of eg. squat the second round is weakpoint traning. Could be fronts, GM’s, whatever helps you out.

That is one approach but is not the only approach. The Sheiko programs I have seen definitely do not suggest what you said.
Sorry BL, don’t want to clog up your thread with this shit.

Ive chosen my next meet, Connecticut state meet, July 2010 hosted by Gene Rychlak. It’s 7 months away so it gives me plenty of time to train.
In my last meet the federation was USAPL, in this one its IPA. Ive been told if you compete raw you can still wear knee wraps, is this true?
Very nice man. I’ve seen Rychlak’s name posted on a couple of the Rochester meets on PLwatch before but they’ve never been competitions that I could make it to.
Yea, he has competitions all around New England. Im hopeing he runs a smooth meet.

But Sheiko’s book does tell you, that you should. Take it or leave it.
Solid squatting, thats impressive, keep it up
Whens that meet in hartford, and is it full powerlifting? sounds like it would be something to do

The rack at my house is a fair amount shorter than the one at school, so there was alot less tension throughout the lift. That’s why I was repping 315 for 4 last week and only 1 this week.
Assisted PU’s: (light band)
3x5
DB curls: 40x3x8
BB shrugs: 135x3x12
So looking at the video I figured out a few things. When im benching without wraps, my wrists are bending back a whole lot (look at the first set). And thats causeing the bar to travel backwards and putting me in an akward position to press the weight up, and maybe even why I was flareing my elbows so much.
And im also breathing to much and shifting around alot, gotta work on that. Thoughts/suggestions?
Your bench. Take one breath in before you take the bar out of the rack and hold it for the entire set. If you can’t hold it for the set, hold it for as long as possible. I personally exhale on the way up at the top of the lift and then take another breath into my BELLY before I lower the bar.
Bring your feet back closer to your body. It’s hard to tell but I think they are too far in front of you which is why you are shifting around. Hope that helps bro.
Monopoly: Thanks for the comment, ill def. record my next session and work on these things.
Well anyway, tomorrow I deadlift. I plan on working up to 405 for 3, and afterwords pull 425 and see how that feels. Ill record it and see how terrible my form is!
This was all done in gym class. Teacher said do some stupid stuff so I said ill do my normal workout. The rest was after practice, about 5 hours later.
BB row:
135x10
185x3x8
205x3x8
BB curls:
55x7x10
barx3x10
Low row:
150x12
150x5, drop set 130x5
130x10
Some light hang snatches and I was done. All this week and last ive been running a mile and doing 60 pushups and 120 situps. Followed by 20 or 30 throws with the shotput (this is for winter track), so I havent been at my fullest during my workouts but I still managed to hit some PR’s.
