hey man, happy birthday! lifts are looking great
Ive chosen my next meet, Connecticut state meet, July 2010 hosted by Gene Rychlak. It’s 7 months away so it gives me plenty of time to train.
In my last meet the federation was USAPL, in this one its IPA. Ive been told if you compete raw you can still wear knee wraps, is this true?

Did 355x8 last cycle, so I guess this is +10 lbs. and +2 reps. WHICH IS FUCKIN SWEET!!!
Went into the weightroom saying I wanted 8. After the 340 set I said screw it im goin for 10. The last 3 reps were kinda shitty, but what can you expect on high rep sets?
Called it a day.
Nice progress, keep it up.

Might have to check the exact rules for the fed, but most of the time it’s either:
-
belt only, knee SLEEVES allowed (i.e. rehband sleeves)
-
belt and 2 or 2.5 meter wraps only
Hard to say, but those are the most common

Didnt set a PR but it was good enough. The last rep of the 245 set was pretty sloppy, I didnt tuck and my elbows flared on the way down. Im workin on it!!
Cant wait till DL’s on thursday, I think ill start this cycle with 370.

Great job on the bench man. 245x6? Is that tnG or pauses?
Also, great job on the 10 reps on the DL. You’re a damn powerhouse
Thanks Big Nation, what are your lifts lookin like?
Thanks for the info PB. I found out theres no knee wraps allowed.
And thank you alk. They were touch and go reps. What are you liftin now?

Was expecting 3 w/ 255 and got 4! I had about a minute and a half between sets, I came to practice late because I had to get my physical. So that made things pretty hard.
I didnt go to total failure with 255, i MIGHT have had another rep. So I want 265 for 3 next week.
btw, weighed in at 238 at the doctors.

Lol I am trying. I was going to finish this month with GTS and then was going to start on Sheiko.
What are you thoughts on Sheiko?
Also, how did the 385x5 feel? I pulled 345x5 today and that felt a littler harder than I thought.

Sheikos tuff, your gonna be spending up to 3 hours a day in the weightroom. I was able tp squat 365 after it though, which was like a 20 lb. PR. Mrodock and Modi have had pretty good gains on sheiko, and theyve been doing it for a while. I only did it for a month, so cant really comment to much on it.
Well ive pulled 390 for 6, thats my current best. But I wasnt really pumped up for 385 so it felt pretty damn heavy. Do you think you could have done more than 345x5?
12-4-09
Military press:
barx5
95x3
115x3
135x3
155x6
Shit
CG bench: 275x1- PR
did it for shits and giggles
BB rows:
125x8
175x8
195x3x8
Eh, not happy with the MP, havent been able to break 6 with 155. Will move up to 165 next week and try and get 4.
Also, Monday im suppose to work up to a 365 box squat. I plan on getting 4 reps with that. Afterwords ill put on some wraps and do 385, and shoot for 405+.
I thought id been kicked off the track team for failing a class, but I guess thats not the case and now I got to practice today. At the begginin of practice we ran 1 mile, did 40 pushups and 100 crunches. Then I got about 12 throws with shot and they went alright.

Very nice man. I’ve seen Rychlak’s name posted on a couple of the Rochester meets on PLwatch before but they’ve never been competitions that I could make it to.

See the time in the Gym isn’t a big problem, I find that it keeps me out of trouble and off my bike. A 20lb PR in a month? That is awesome, tho I’ve been making 10-15 pounds a month, I would love to try something different.
Umm. Maybe. That was my top set. Anymore higher I would of had to add a belt tho. I don’t think I could of gotten 385x5 without a belt. Why?
