Power clean: up to 205 for a sloppy single

Box squat (beltless):
barx10
185x5
225x3x5

Groin felt pretty good today, wasnt aggrivated at all. I know this is suppose to be a de-load but im not going crazy with the weights.[/quote]

Good luck with the new approach. Hope we can have 300 by the end of the year (I think you can get that 20lbs)

Also, glad to hear your groin is feeling better. Hopefully that means it’s well on it’s way to recovery

Thanks alot alkoholic, 300 will be a big milestone. Who knows, maybe ill get 405 by the end of 2010! (just kidding)

I really hope so. If I can come back to squatting I think I can pull off 405 in febuary.

This sounds like a really good plan. I am curious what weights you will take in the following cycles. Just go up 5 pounds? Then do you know how you will structure the “realization block?”

I think you might be good for 10-15 extra pounds if you can keep your elbow tuck as you start the ascent. I would take more video for feedback from some of the good benchers around here. Who knows, with some help you may surpass your expectations.

I plan on keeping the weights till I hit an extra rep, for example for the 5 week ill do 6 reps, then ill move up 5 pounds. I dont know how ill do it yet. I plan on consulting Modi or MarunderMeat.

Ok, I will try and get a video up on tuesday. I think we discussed this before but ive been to lazy to do it.

It is funny reading your log, because our main lifts are almost identical, I feel like i am reading my own log, but training completely differently.

Holy shit, I just glanced at your log and we have almost the same stats and numbers.

Thats kinda weird… maybe your a long lost twin brother?

Maybe, although I think I am like a year older than you, aren’t you 17? I don’t think I have much about it in my sheiko log, but when I was doing 5/3/1 my standing preat ss was right where yours is too, weird stuff. I am heavier than you, but I am 6’2" with a heavy frame, I have already accepted I will never win a relative strength battle, I weighed 195 fairly thin with no muscle all this time a year ago,

I suppose if I totaled 3000 in the 308’s that would be good relative strength…

fixed

Edit: for some reason the edit button wasn’t appearing till I posted this, strange…

Actually im turning 17 on monday!

And yea you are about 20 lbs heavier than me, but my weight varies by season. In the summer I think I got down to 220, and now im back up to 230 (maybe even 235). I will probably gain another 10 lbs during winter and lose it all by spring.

But to be far ive been training for a while now. I trained just bench pretty heavily since my freshman year (started squats 2 years ago and DLing one year ago), and im now a senior. Although I did just start training like a smart person recently, I think training for a few years gives me an advantage.

And I suppose it would, but couldnt you drop down to 132 and maintain your strength?

The groin is feeling good enough to squat again. Will run the next cycle of 5/3/1 with box squats, just to take some stress of the groin when im in the hole.

Im feelin pretty good about this, 3 months of not squatting sucks ass. Im ready to punch 405 in the face and move on, I know I had it before I got hurt, and ill have it again in no time.

I never trained my lower body, or even my back really, until a year ago. For a while I just benched and trained chest and arms and did a few lat pulldowns here and there. My bench got up to 225 that way and then I was looking for a way to make it better, found out about squatting and deadlifting, learned about powerlifting, fell in love with it. I will hopefully find a raw meet sometime in 2010 that I can do.

add belt
295x5

Pulled something in my back yesterday while moveing a dresser so I called it quits. Good session though, im just coming off a groin injury which lasted about 3 months, so it feels good to move heavy weights.

Hey we have the same birthday, except I turned 15 today. Hopefully I’ll be at your strength level in 2 years.

Happy birthday and nice box squattin’

Thanks Brian, and happy birthday to you.

Thanks Matt!

Didnt set a PR but it was good enough. The last rep of the 245 set was pretty sloppy, I didnt tuck and my elbows flared on the way down. Im workin on it!!

Cant wait till DL’s on thursday, I think ill start this cycle with 370.
