Our indoor squads been killing it, but we’re pretty much done now as far as championship meets go, NCAA’s are this fri/sat and then the outdoor season begins. I’ve been throwing quite a bit this winter, 2-3 days a week plus lifting 4 days a week. Its into a net though so i dont know how far they’re going. hopefully some of this damn snow will melt so i can go outside and let em fly[/quote]
Roger that. I figured you’d be throwing.
Im assuming you’ve been working with a coach as well? Any chance you can get a video up?

Yup, i’ve been getting coaching for pretty much every throwing session. if i can get outside this week i’ll definitely be getting a video up. Technique has been getting so much better i cant wait to get out and throw

Nice. Any chance you can give me some feedback on these throws? It was my first time throwing in 6 months, so they don’t look to good.

One of the big things i’ve learned this year is that its all about the right foot. On standing throws, the second your upper body starts to turn, your right foot should pivot in to help you get your hip into it. With your lower body ahead of your upper body, you should be able to get a lot more ‘snap’ onto your throw.
This carries over into your spinning throw, the second your right foot lands out of the back of the circle, pull knee to knee and get the left foot down. The right foot should never stop spinng as it gets your hips up into the throw.
Hopefully this helps a little bit… I went out to throw today but it was shit conditions, water windy cold blah blah blah. Only ended up taking a few standing throws, which wernt bad. Hopefully the weather gets a little better… im back at school now so we’ll see.

Sweet, thanks for the info. The foot pivot is probably the most challenging thing for me. I have to start doing more drills/phantoms to keep it pivoting. I think my best throw was my last… I got the left down quick and my right foot kept turning. Under the comments I mentioned how my leg sweep was almost not existent, and thats another reason why my foot pivot isnt great.
And yea I hear ya, throwing under shitty conditions isnt fun. Once is starts to get warmer and dryer out we can throw all we want.
Thanks again.

Sick as a mother fucker. I haven’t stopped puking and shitting since yesterday morning. Probably wont train the rest of this week.
Weighed in at 230 today, lost 10 lbs in 2 days.
Next week I will be switching to the Juggernaut method, enough of this bodybuilding tom foolery.
