Your probably right…

Im not human just irish lol.

the truth of the matter is that i hate not training, i go a little crazy when i cant regularly train. Because of this I have been in an over-reaching state (what most people say is overtraining) for probably 6 months or so, thats my progress has been sub par. so im actually going to take the rest of the week off in order to get back to 100% then ill go into a program i know wont cause this to happen.

Although I change my program very often, for the majority of the last 6+ months i have been doing versions of high volume training. Ofcourse i go heavier and lower reps in some things then others but my volume has consistently been sky high for the majority of it.

The only real breakthroughs i can remember in this time in a difference in how my physique actually looked was when i stopped and went to low volume 1x a week. Im not talking strength gains just asthetically.

Intensity techniques bring a lot to training as well and have always worked very well for me in my still limitted experience, but even attempting them with a high volume routine will wipe you out.

I find the strength gains on accessory work also will slow down horribly on a volume setup and in some cases, like my biceps completely stop. Unless ofcourse im eating everything in site and gaining a lot of weight fast, then ofcourse everything will go up.

i guess my point in all this is that im going to now for the next 6+months focus on intensity variations of lifting, if i do find one that i like i will stick with it but that hasnt happened yet lol. Im going to start with DC training as ive never given the actual program a shot. Im going to actually follow the diet, the training, the stretches, the morning cardio and not change one thing and see how i like it.

Now that im more busy 40 minute workouts 3-4x a week are very appealing lol and i miss being able to go absolutely balls out on everything.

Since im still wanting to lose some fat i will do this very specifically. I will start the training actrually with a cruise phase for 2-3 weeks or so and then blast for 4-6 weeks while increasing protein by a lot and carbs by a bit during this time and then repeat. Ive never not counted calories really so this should be interesting.

So for the cruise i will still be following the usual DC template but until i start my blast phase i will not be trying for new PRs every week and will be using no rest pauses or widowmakers until i start my blast and calories are increased a bit.

this program is basically in all aspects a polar opposite to what ive done for a long time, I havent even had high protein forever so im expecting the results to be great. This isnt a decision on a whim ive been thinking about this for a couple months now.

Sorry for the long post

Blackaggar Beastmode Engaged has been revived. I might start a new log lol when i start my blast phase just because i like new things

Will be interesting to see how that goes for you. I dunno if i will ever be able to switch to super low volume. I am doing exactly what you were doing before. Super high volume. Its just what i love cant help it. lol… I will use you as my guinea pig to see what happens on low volume. I bet you see some awesome gains. Your body will love the break. I just hate my body so much i make it love volume

I can’t imagine using DC training any time soon, but your definitely at that stage in your training where it seems like a cool thing to try out and see how it works for you. “Brave” to go for something completely different but I’m sure you’ll learn a lot from it. I’m loving just medium amounts of volume with a ton of emphasis on exercise selection and form variations… but always fun to experiment… hence why I ran smolov base followed by smolov intense… painful experiment.

Yeah i like it too, i think the areas of my body over these months that have benefitted the most from the volume are my shoulders and back out of anything, everything has improved obviously but those are the standout points
