Oh no worries…I just meant that I couldn’t recall which one we got. ![]()
Thanks for taping and posting that, Missy! ![]()
So that was 150, but the order shown is actually flipped…the “second” set here was done first.
8/10/12 - Week 6, Day 3
squats - Felt strong today…
95 x 3 x 2
110 x 3 x 1
125 x 3 x 1
140 x 3 x 1
bench
65 x 3 x 1
85 x 3 x 1
100 x 3 x 3
Pendlay rows
85 x 3 x 1
100 x 3 x 3
barbell curls
55 x 6 x 3
That’s it for week 6. Two-thirds of the way through the program and feeling strong.
Didn’t log it earlier this week, but we did a great boot camp on Wednesday night! Usual bodyweight stuff to warm up (various combinations of tuck jumps, skipping, mountain climbers, goats, getups/squat jump ladders, victory rolls/criss-cross ladders, frankenstein/pushup ladders, etc). Then the fun stuff: jumps onto tire/sledgehammer/sled circuit and rope slams/leaning pushups on fingertips/jumping jacks. Good stuff!
great looking DLS!! Still kicking ass in here / love it!
Double Quarter pounder with cheese…Large french fries and a chocalte milk! LOL
Stay Hungry I guess, or something like that…
Nice playing with the kids today.

The weird thing - and I’m serious, it’s the truth - is that I NEVER order that; was supposed to just be quarter pounder w/cheese…and for the record, I only ate half.
Like I said…I lift weights. That junk will get burned off fast. LOL
Yup…was a blast today! Thanks for showing us that cool park with the exercise equipment in it…but beware crotchety old ladies…hahaha

Hey, Up!
Thanks! Yes, I’ve been working and playing hard…just having a blast in the gym while I get stronger. That’s what it’s all about, right?!
Saw that you popped back into your old log. You’re looking great!
8/13/12 - Week 7, Day 1
squats
95/115/125/135 x 3 x 1
145 x 3 x 3 - Felt good except for that very last rep. Got it done, but I think I checked out before I was really done. Did the same last week…better cut that crap out and focus 'til I’m DONE. Hmmm…just realized that at the start of the program in July, 145 was my 1RM, and today I did 3x3 @ 145. Progress!
bench
65 x 5 x 1
90 x 3 x 1
100 x 3 x 1
110 x 3 x 1
- Good form, good speed today on all sets.
Pendlay rows
65 x 5 x 1
90 x 3 x 1
100 x 3 x 1
110 x 3 x 1
-Fought for the set @ 110, but knocked them out.

Good Monday night at the gym with Megaloca! Now it’s turkey burger time! ![]()

All your coaching is much appreciated! Thanks for building me strong!
8/14/12 Kettlebell Session
So, Fischer tried to kill me by adding in skipping before each complex while holding a KB. Amazing how just adding that skipping gets the heart rate up so quickly.
We got through 9 of 10 complexes tonight that followed this pattern (in general):
-Skip half court and back while holding kb, 12 swings/3 clean & press/12 swings left side; 12 swings/3 clean & press/12 swings right side.
And on…and on…and…
Overall, though, it was a great session…but I’m weird that way. ![]()
Thank you, Bogotir, for leaving out the walking figure eights complex and letting me save a teeny bit for getting my deads done tomorrow. LOL
It was magical…
Okay, okay, okay…I can’t believe I missed this one!! Skipping and Bells together??? Mind blowing! I’m feeling like I missed out on some great sweat.
Rick - Yep…magical…that’s one way to describe it.
Meg - At one point, I said I just needed to add fairy dust to my glistening arms to complete the happy, magical picture. ![]()
Round 2 of payback…er, I mean…“Magical” training sessions tonight in boot camp…
8/15/12 - Week 7, Day 2
OHP
bar/55/65 x 3 x 1
75 x 3 x 3 - I have never done as well with these as I did today! I think I actually cracked a smile after knocking these out. Last rep was a grinder but good.
DLs
115/135 x 3 x 1
160 x 3 x 1 - Was supposed to be at 155 today, but 150 was easy last week, so I bumped up a little. 160 came up too easily, so I bumped up again for the last two sets.
165 x 3 x 2
(Got video of one of the sets, will try to get that posted later.)
Klokov press
55 x 3 x 3 - Easy at this weight
chinups
BW x 5 x 3
It was a great morning! Will do boot camp tonight.
DLs from Wednesday…I think I sat back even better on next set, but I’m happy with this one.
I’m getting dangerously close to that 1.5x bodyweight mark (current bw is ~118-119).
Boot camp later that night got me nutsy-cuckoo. LOL. It was good…warmed up with tuck jumps, skipping, getups, bodyweight squats, skipping, pushups, supermans (what did he call them? sailor supermans with your arms back instead of forward), skipping, core work, skipping, lots of mountain climbers (session title was “Space Mountain”), goats, burpees, and skipping, sled pushes, heavy bag carries, heavy rope slams, skipping…
Did I mention the skipping we did?? The steak and beer afterwards made it all better. ![]()
Catching up here…8/17/12, Week 7, Day 3
squats
95/105 x 3 x 1
115 x 3 x 1
130 x 3 x 1
145 x 3 x 1 - Good work, except that Doh! I didn’t adjust the numbers to account for the fact that I went heavier on Monday (did 145 x 3 x 3 on Monday, so should have hit 150 or 155 on my top set here). Ah well…
bench
65/85 x 3 x 1
105 x 3 x 3
Pendlay rows
85/95 x 3 x 1
105 x 3 x 3
Sat., 8/18/12
Morning KB followed by boot camp
High volume KB session, worked on form. Great workout.
Boot camp - Usual suspects as far as bodyweight exercises to start warmup, then centipede pushups, bear crawls, spider bear crawls, long jumps, with a sprinkling of jumping jacks here and there…mountain climbers, skipping…
8/20/12 - Week 8, Day 1
squats
95/115/135 x 3 x 1
155 x 3 x 3 - Was a bit tentative on first rep of first set (probably because no spotter at this point and wanted to make sure I could handle the weight), but then got down and touched 7-pin on reps 2 & 3. Good second set. Third set a little tough, but got it done with good depth. Thanks, Missy, for the encouragement!
bench
65 x 5 x 1
95 x 3 x 1
105 x 3 x 1
115 x 2 x 1 - Bailed on 3rd rep - but man…I felt later that I could have gotten it if I had just grinded a little more! Couldn’t walk away so I gave it another try…
115 x 2 x 1 - Again, got just 2 reps, but it’s the heaviest I’ve benched, so I’ll take it! This is 3 pounds short of my current bodyweight, so I’m very happy with this. Got video and will post soon.

Tonight’s training took a lot out of me, but I feel a good sense of accomplishment.
