Bitten by the Lifting Bug

Looking awesome!!! Still loving the traps.

You go nice and deep like me! My goal is just under parallel,
but i seem to go deeper not wanting to look like
the guys at my gym not even hitting parallel banging out 20, Yea dude, your swole…NOT!

Congrats on finishing your challenge.[/quote]

haha…gotta go deep, Baby! Yeah, it’s funny when folks don’t hit parallel and insist it’s a perfectly good rep. One of my training buddies is just getting started on these, but she’s honest about where she is in the process, so that’s what makes the difference. (Don’t even get me started on what some people think is a pushup!)

I remember seeing video of you doing dips a long time ago and thinking, “Holy cow…how is she doing so many and so deep?! I’m doing that!”

GS challenge was good, but I’m glad it’s done. I’ll still be doing them regularly as part of KB sessions, I’m sure, but the challenge was a different beast.

Happy Mommy’s Day! Your family is super blessed to have a fit mom!

Many thanks for the Mother’s Day greeting, Kairiki!

Busy week, so my training schedule is a bit off. No time this past Monday to get in my usual upper body stuff at home except for some pushups - and dips on my new dip bar.

Did KB class last night. Stayed light…side still a little tender.

Heading to gym in a couple of hours for leg day. Really looking forward to it, especially since I’ll have to miss boot camp tonight (rehearsal for cousin’s wedding will keep me away).

ha, I know, I know. Just didn’t make it happen Monday night walks away with tail between legs

Thanks about today! Squats felt good for the most part.

5/16/12

front squats - Felt much better than last week. Didn’t stay tight on a few reps here and there on the worksets, but did good overall.
bar x 5 x 1
55 x 3 x 1
75 x 3 x 1
95 x 3 x 1
115 x 5 x 6

SLDL
115 x 8 x 2

Dimel DLs
Attempted 115 x 8 x 4 - but I just couldn’t get the form down properly, so there were really only a few good reps of these here and there. Need to activate glutes better on these…

hamstring curls
70 x 10 x 3 - Weak, weak, weak…discovered something else that needs strengthening.

weighted decline situps
15# x 10 x 3

Good training today!

Holy Smokes, you are kicking Butt in here!!!

I propose a new name for your log: Fischer and the Beast. (you’re the beast, lol)

Nice front squats!

Hey, PG! Thanks on the front squats!

hmmm…not bad on the log name. I have some friends who’d be offended at being called the Beast and not the “Beauty,” but those gals stick with the pink dumbbells. LOL (Doh! Did I go there?! Guess I did…haha)

5/17/12

barbell complexes, bar x 8 x 4sets
upright rows
hang snatch
push press
squats
good mornings
bent over rows

farmer’s walk, trap bar - Got to play in the sunshine for this one. 135# x 3 trips out and back. Distance was…not sure…80-100 yds one way?

Great day today between heavy training days - but hammies are really sore!

bodyweight ~118lbs

Love Farmer walks with a Trap Bar…Great work

Thanks, BD! I need to pay attention and position hands better before lifting the bar, but not bad for first time on these.

Nice set of complexes, especially with the farmers walks added in! Not bad for your “day off” of heavy training.

However, once you start adding more weight to those complexes I think the light/fun day will become boot camp #2!

The minute he said we were going outside, I thought, “Crap…HoJo’s been waiting for this for what…3 yrs or so, and the one day we actually head out, he’s not here!”

Bite your tongue on boot camp #2! I know we’ll add weight, but still need to keep it a relatively light day between Wednesday squat/boot camp and Friday bench. Speaking of which, you in for tomorrow?

The last thing you need is another heavy work out day (I could probably use it though). I want to keep Thursday as a fun/light day, but the coach keeps coming up with new ways to delight and torture.

Good work today with the increased weight! Your consistency and determination are really paying off. I especially enjoyed the last set of dips!

Thats exactly what I am after.

We need to increase her Work Threshold Capacity ie: ability to keep working near ones absolute limits…most people just fold when this happens, KB has ( I think) the ability to focus inward and push through the pain. I am just polishing that diamond. Make sense?

Hey there,
Thursdays will still be lighter than the other days even with added weight, so it’s all good.

Thanks about today. That last set of dips…I just had to laugh! Squeaky DEFINITELY came out on that last dip, but I got it! mwahahaha!

Makes sense - and I believe I did better at it today. Thanks, Coach.

5/18/12
bench - Slight increase in weight today over last week. Felt really good throughout all sets(training buddy kept saying I should have bumped to 90…)
bar x 5 x 1
65 x 3 x 1
75 x 3 x 1
85 x 3 x 6

rows - inclined bench - Better at squeezing blades today
bar x 5 x 1
65 x 5 x 1
85 x 5 x 3

shoulder press, seated
20#DBs x 10 x 1 (then I got yelled at by a couple of the guys, so went heavier…)
25 x 10 x 2
25 x 9 x 1 - Pretty even pressing on all reps

dips
BW x 6 x 2
BW x 8 x 1 - YES! Went up on reps. for last set instead of down as has been the case in the past. Highest total number of reps for dips to date.

hammer curls
25#DBs x 10 x 3

Really happy with today’s training.
