That is cool Jimmy T. It is amazing how people will train in the same ways at different points across the nation. Yet not even know each other. Thank you for the support and good luck with your training.

biggjames,
I like hammer curls too!I have a couple questions for you.Do you feel they help with your grip and forearm strength for the bench? How heavy do you go and what rep and set range do you recommend?Your training looks great.Best of training to you!TRAIN HARD! Jimmy T

Big Jimmy T,
I like the hammer curls a lot. It does hammer the bi’s and forearms. I do usually two to three sets of 8-10 reps. I have gone up to 70-80 lbs with strict form. But lately my left elbow has been a trouble spot so I have backed off a bit.
As for my grip on the bench, I grip it as hard as I can to make the wrist and hand one unit. No limp wrist wobble, leave finger and palm marks in the bar.
Try that for a while and see if it will work for ya.
Bigg James
I used the grip you suggested. It worked great!Training is going well, and I’m focused on my goals. From your post the force is with you too! Thanks for the support.TRAIN HARD! Jimmy T
Jimmy T,
I am glad the grip worked for you, that is one of the biggest mistakes I see people do, not gripping the bar hard enough. I actually learned this from Ed Coan about six years ago.
Mertdawg,
The shoulders are great, I have not had problems with them as of yet. It is mainly my left elbow. I have noticed that the pain is less severe since I have started taking an MSM, Glucosamine stack, and wearing elbow sleeves to keep them warm.

Leg Curl: 90x2x8
Tonight was the first night that I have used knee wraps in roughly three years. WOW! Did they ever throw my first heavy set off.I just could not quit so I increased the weight 25 and doubled it. I think next week will be much better.
That Is All.
So you have an elite total?
Very nice work man. Congrats on the bad ass gym. Keep on truckin’ though, don’t worry about 35, it’s young. Old is what you make it. Old is when you stop trying to be young. Don’t give up, you’ll meet your goals.
Thank you.
As of yet I have not totaled elite. The lifts I have listed are my best and I know they add up to over an elite total. I just have not been able to put all three together. I feel that is one of the hardest mountains to climb in powerlifting. I will get there! Have a good one and train hard.

Ab work
Great night, maybe this will work for me until the contest.
That Is All.
HEY Jimmy T,
Thing are going great. Here are today’s numbers.
Chest-Shoulders-Back
BP: 140x15, 250x8, 340x5, 410x2, 440x3 W/ Wrist wraps
Apollons Axel Push Press: 137x10, 227x5, 282x6 W/ belt & Wrist Wraps
Lat Pulldowns Front: 210x2x10, 260x8
Incline BP: 230x8, 340x8 w/ wrist wraps
Rear Delt Raise: 20x8, 25x8, 30x8
Low Pulley Rows: 210x8, 300x2x8
Actual Sit ups: killed me, I have’nt done these in quite awhile and I need to do them. People talk so much about swiss ball crunches and regular crunches. I even fell into the trap, I feel sit ups still work the abs over all and the hip flexors. So I am sure some will want to argue on this one.
