Today was the day. I would really like to say thank you to the following people.
John Inzer, for the donation of the pink t-shirts, which were worn for my sister who has breast cancer.

Dan Paul of Paul insurance in Missoula,MT
Gus Rethswich and WABDL for stepping up and promoting the meet on such short notice.
My family and friends, for their support while I lifted.

And most of all , Michelle, my wife, I love you and I am glad you were there to cheer me on.

The lifting was great, I did a 501 Bench with no shirt and barely missed 512. I placed third in the bench.

The deads were great, 716; new MT State record. I also won the best deadlifter award.
All in all it was a great day.

Congrats Bigg James- You are one inspirational dude, Our prayers go out to your sister.

I can’t believe people were jipping him about being underage! I daren’t say that I have another 8 years to go before I can officially qualify for this forum. However I DO own a pair of slippers and this week the latest I’ve been to bed was 10.00 pm, so I feel at home here. I also have a pretty respectable amount of male pattern baldness going on, so please let me stay…

Anyway, BigJames, those numbers are awesome mate, and proof, (if proof were needed) that big numbers = young wife.

Best wishes to your sister too…hope that doesn’t sound flippant, it’s not meant to.

Thank you to all.
My sister goes in for her surgery on the 26th. Let’s hope the doctors can get all the cancer.
To everyone, keep training hard and remember how lucky we are.

It’s not the age, it’s the miles.

I served in the US Navy and I was stationed at little Creek, Virginia. I see from your post that you are in VA. If in the VA Beach area go to Flex Gym and ask for AL. Tell him Bigg James sent ya.

BIGG JAMES
When were you in VA? I was at SIMA, Little Creek - 91-94. I also spent some time at Dam Neck. Wasn’t lifting back then, though.

I did enjoy VA Beach.

I was in Little Creek, 1994-95. I also spent some temporary duty at Dam Neck, the end of 95-96. I trained at Flex Gym in VA Beach. Great gym and atmosphere.

Here is a pic of the new hair due. My wife’s Idea.

I assume you are not happy about this.

I can kind of say the same thing.

“I got my nuts cut…the wife’s idea.”

ps…True story.
LMAO! Classic Rockscar! My fate as well my man.

Since it has been a while since I have posted I thought I would bump my own thread.

I am currently getting ready for the USAPL Rocky MT States Open and I thought I would list my training.

Squats: 140x10, 230x6,320x6,412.5x8
Deads: 250x6, 340x2, 412.5x8
Zercher’s: 137x8, 227x2x6
Rev-Hyper Ext: 95x10, 185x10, 275x10
Leg Ext: 90x10, 135x2x10
Leg Curl: 90x3x10
Standing Calves: BWTx3x15

Felt great, I have roughly 10 weeks of training to go. I am going to lift in this meet semi-raw (Belt, Knee Wraps and Wrist Wraps) I am hoping to post a new PR total and bring my base strength back up to par so I can compete again in Strongman. That is all for now.

Fun Way to eat Classic Grow!

8 ounces of skim milk
2 Tablespoons of your favorite peanut butter
1 tablespoon of fat free cool whip
3 scoops of chocolate Classic Grow!

mix all together until it is almost like a pudding consistancy, chill and then enjoy!
This was actually created by wife (halfpintdd) she sometimes cannot stomach Classic Grow! , so she thinks up alternative ways.

James, you certainly have picked the right screen name. You are a large mammal with some seriously nice toys. (And a great wife who plays with themas well!)

As I was looking at your set-up, my mind flashed back to the ten minutes I spent this afternoon waiting for a squat rack as all three were taken by curlers.

One quick question: what is that thing hanging above the bike? Is it a heat lamp or just a reguar lamp?

Yup, that is a radient heater. I have three of them in the gym. Plus, I just got done wiring so I can add two more next winter. Winters in Montana can be a bitch.

Thanks for the compliment on my work and my gym and good luck with your training.

I am fortunate in not having to compete with others for equipment. I am also unfortunate because I train alone. No training partners. (WAHHHH!) I think people are scared of my training, and my philosophies on hard work.

Chest & Tri’s

Bench Press: 140x15, 230x8, 320x3, 330x3x8
Board Presses: 330x5
I thought I would try them, next week I will increase the weight on them.
Incline BB Press: 230x3x8
I always go 100 pounds below my top set on the bench. They will increase as my bench does.
DB BP: 110x10, 110x6
Overhead Tricep Ext: 75x8, 120x2x8
Tricep Pushdowns: 120x3x10

Great night, I felt strong and powerful.

That Is All.

Thank you Jimmy T, I hope your workouts are going just as strong or stronger. Now being in the over 35 bracket changes a few things. The biggest is recovery.

Have a good one.

Cool Video

Squat Night 03/23/2006
Squats: 140x10, 250x8, 340x5, 450x5 Belt Only.
Heavy walk out with 1/4 squat: 550x5, 600x5
Rev-Hyper Ext: 95x10, 185x10, 295x10

I do heavy walk out’s with a 1/4 squat to set me up for the next week. That way when I do my top set or working set it feels “lighter.” The 1/4 squat, for me is just a mental thing. Allows me to adjust for things to come.

That is All.
