Big Bench = Bad Shoulders

This is a total troll job. I am out of here.

Idiot. If I give the real stats, nobody would believe me. Yet everyone is too happy to believe me with 6-1, 165.

I don’t believe anything you say because you are an obvious troll.

If you were honest you would post honest stats.

You have blown the opportunity to be taken seriously.

You will be known as a lying troll as long as you post here.

When you change your screen name I’ll bet you keep your lying troll ways and you get called out again.

I don’t understand why people like you come here and try to mess up a site like this. Are you paid to do it?

Isn’t the topic discussing the statement that a big bench = bad shoulders?

Your telling me to read the posts more thoroughly is a joke. You have disregarded every sensible thing said here in your troll job.

Not stronger than pressing from a stable surface. The stable surface allows you to handle more weight.

Then bring on the machine chest press.

Some “machine” chest presses can be quite good. Some not so good.

I prefer free weights myself.
I’ve been dodging that sucker for years. Thanks Zap, your profetic revelation there will give me some great strength and size gains.
I’ll bet you have. Stick to the pink dumbbells.

I think the problem here is that there are TONS of people who have gotten extremely strong and have developed great physiques by NEVER using a swiss ball. However, I’ve never heard of ANYBODY who’s ever built a great physique or great strength by pressing exclusively on the ball.

So I think you should understand that people aren’t going to magically change over just because you say it’s better with no real evidence to point to it.

If the pink DB’s weigh 120+ pounds then I’m all for it! I don’t give a shit what colour they are.

You are a rookie if I have ever seen one. Machine bench press? Come on. As if a BB Bench, DB Bench, SB Press, Floor press and so on isn’t better than a machine press.

I can’t believe anyone would post that they are worthwhile machines. A fixed rigid machine is shithouse in every instance.

The only machine I would possible consider using is a High/Low cable pulley. Everything else can be done with a power rack, Oly BB, DB’s, Swiss balls, and so on.

Okay then. I’m a troll. Would you believe that?

The bulk of the people in here don’t post honest stats.

No, you have blown the opportunity to take me seriously. This is a think tank. It’s pretty empty when guys like you only believe what they have done in the past.

I can live with that. You will be always known as one of the masses who can’t come up with a decent argument to save himself.

I’m keeping this one. I’m happy with who I am and I am comfortable with the fact that guys like you don’t like me. It makes me think that I am on the right track.

Nope. I love this site. The authors here are 10/10. Best site on the net without a doubt. People like you ruin it with pigeon holed ideas.

Last time I checked, that seemed to be the point. Why do you ask that? Did you not read it the first time you came in here?

Okay. Tell me in any certain term why you believe that a bb (barbell)bench press is superior to a SB Bench. Also explain to me how your shoulders will be better served by doing a bench over the SB.

I can’t remember you making an actual attempt to add something to the debate. The pink DB joke has been used twice now and never got a laugh.

They being the experts who got you into the iron game. Or did you just pick up a magazine and rip the program straight out of it.

Really? I did talk about exercises like the Squat and the Deadlift. So maybe I am not adverse to using Barbells in strength training. You would be a fool not to.

By the way, you are a disgrace to the real Zapper. He would be making 10 times more sense than you are at the moment.

No shit. As I said before. Squats and Deadlifts aside, how much of your progress can you attribute to one single exercise?

Simply by trying the exercise, some people might be quite surpirsed by the gains they can achieve.

But we don’t do that here. We see an idea and if it isn’t something we already do, we dismiss it with great opposition.

Everytime I see the word “Troll” in a post, I keep thinking it’s my last name. hahha

I’ll grant you that.

I have nothing against Swiss Ball DB press. I think I said before in this thread that I like DeFranco’s recommendation, as RE work once every 3 or 4 cycles or on a deload week submaximally. That’s how I’ve used them and I like them in that place. I just don’t see them being superior for heavy loading to regular dumbell press.

Maybe am I not giving them a chance? Possibly. However, that’s something I’ll address when I stop progressing using more “traditional” means.
jtrinsey wrote:

Thankyou.

Good to see that you have used them. And I’m sure DeFranco doesn’t rate them higher than a traditional bench or DB bench. But a tool nontheless!

Good point. You have tried them however. My main beef has been with those who dismiss things without trying them.

You got that dead-on with that last remark, Zap. Sense seems to make the troll’s head hurt. Sleepytroll’s replies never make any sense. He always backpedals or comes back with some BS that’s totally inane and child-like. Some of his answers make me think he is a fat psychology major of some sort. “Sorry gahhs, Ah can’t post mah stat’s; Ah’m such a BEEFCAKE nobody’d believe me. Beefcake. BEEFCAAAKE!” Please. clicking “Ignore” now

Fair enough, I can deal with the fact that some people don’t think I’m funny - I get that a lot. But you have to admit it is a LITTLE funny that you have responded to a couple of my posts on this thread when you admittedly don’t read them.

If you are claiming you press that on a swiss ball I doubt it. Doing that off a bench is quite respectable.

Been doing this for more than 20 years. I have tried most everything.

I prefer free weights also.

Some machines can be quite good if you do not have spotters.

You sound like you don’t have very much experience. There are some excellent machines out there. The Hammer Strength press is nice.

I normally wouldn’t use a machine for my primary pressing movement but like swissballs they have a place in certain circumstances.

Open you mind and learn. Of course you will come back and post something stupid instead.

There was no insinuation of Chek being a fag, where did you get that?

By the way, it’s very easy to bag others poems, but let’s hear one from you?

Don’t get me started on chi…

This thread is sooooo gay. Although the poems are nicely done

Yes, and yet a lot of the ill-educated that troll these boards keep pushing it off topic. This might be in its 15th page, but I can count the amount of posts on one hand that responded to the actual topic.

Dear God, he’s lost it.

Kratos, you are a deadset dickhead. You know it, I know it, and the whole of T-Nation friggin knows it.

Psychology major? At least you have some respect for my intelligence. What was your job again? Nuff said.
