Results?
Squatting didn’t happen yesterday, but it will today. Going start getting more training videos for you guys. I’ll try for either 585x1, 555 for a few reps, or cap it with 505 for 7-10.
I’m going into chrysalis stage.
I have a more comprehensive outlook to my training. I think it promises to render tremendous results. I’m calming it the Xiaolin approach. Deadly yet peaceful. Brutal yet graceful. Should be nice. This is not a plan, template, program, or system. Not even a methodology. This is quite simply a mental approach and expectation to lifting in and of itself.
I’ve chosen Static as an avi over SB so that people won’t forget I’m black
Will the Xiaolin approach include training with weights?
Squat
135x1
225x1
315x1
405x1
465x1 +belt
505x1
NOTES:
- Good speed on the squats. Very snappy. Pretty loose though.
- Things felt pretty heavy on my back today, but this is the heaviest I’ve gone since the meet (like 5 weeks ago) so no sweat. The weights weren’t particularly heavy. Just a bit of shock to my system. Next squat session should be writ with PRs. Aimed for the stars and hit the moon. Decent work.
- I had more weight in me, but I shut down mostly due to some low back pain. Tight hip flexors are part of the problem. I will remedy that.
Banded Leg Press
used my short monster minis
1ppsx8
3ppsx8
5ppsx8
7ppsx8
8ppsx8
NOTES:
- I’m just glad my setup worked. Felt like good work.
Pullups
alternated pronated and neutral grips
about 45 pullups total (pullups get boring really fast)
Unilateral Machine Row
not sure what brand it is, I’ll check next time
4x10 each arm
Pullups
dead hang
about 12ish
got a pretty decent pump throughout my back
Summation:
I’d give today a 7/10.

Trying for a good bench day tomorrow
Yo you accidentally posted a workout instead of internet pics

LOL.
Nice work Spar, the trolling will cease now, haha
Just trying to move up from dud status. Oh yeah, I brought my stance in a bit. Didn’t feel any weaker. Knee is about back to normal strength.

Dude, just stop trying.
I mean, you’re chubby with love handles, probably no legs, definitely no back, and hardly any muscle.
Leave the lifting to those of us with legs so massive we don’t even have to train them anymore.
Find another hobby, dud.

Avengers was fucking amazing!
jelly, i want to see it.
I’m thinking about trying a volume oscillating method. As I approach the peak of the oscillation, volume for main lift decreases (emphasizing intensity) and volume for assistance increases. As I approach the trough of an oscillation, volume for the main lift increases and the volume for assistance decreases (emphasizing intensity). Essentially wave-loading but a different way of looking at it. Programming would adhere to a graphical wave and dictating formula.
Despite the wording, not much thought would go into it, so I’ll have no problem sticking with it. This is pretty much how I lift anyway after thinking about it. Locally it looks chaotic, but globally there is a scheme that can be measured. Obvious kinks are obvious, but since I’m now aware of it, I can make a few modifications for prolonged success. Why volume? Some time ago, I made a cheese grater/drill analogy. Volume is the cheese grater, and intensity is the drill.
The cheese grater affects surface area while the drill affects depth. The way I see it, intensity spurs peak performance while volume spurs adaptation. Intensity makes you your strongest. Volume makes you stronger. I now have a perspective and a method. I’m feeling pretty special lol … notreally.jpg. Just a brain fart.

Besides the pic, I like the training setup. Especially if it feels natural for you from the get go, you’ll stick with it a lot better. I’m that way with total body training. Everything I read tells me to do a bodypart/movement split, but I make retarded fast gains on TBT. Gotta stick with what works and not bounce around man. Good luck.
I hate it when people edit my stuff. I wrote it that way for a reason …
