Goodnight, MiM. I’ll pray for you.

I am, MiM,
Your obedient Servant,

Chris IV

What are you waiting for then??

I hate going to the doctors too. No one likes going. Well, maybe some do, but still… I hadn’t had a check up in a few years because I’d rather just be in denial.

you are your own advocate for your health. We eat healthy and do all this fitness-y stuff…gotta take care of the inside too.

Can’t complain about feeling like crap if we don’t do anything about it!!

Having said that I need to ask about my knees. I don’t want to, because I don’t want bad news. But if there is a chance it could be better then why not?

call your Dr. Chris. That’s an order.

Greg- yes, lots of medical talk. blech. Why can’t we just stay healthy and fugadaboutit?

5/3/1 is pretty cool. Having a plan for the big lifts is good!!! Not sure why I’ve resisted this long. But it still gives you the freedom to do whatever else you want. I especially like the prescription of repping the heavy weights. That’s the part I’d usually get lazy about.

I’m just doing the original. Are there other variations aside from the PL’ing one?

I just got the 5/3/1 for PLing, I do like, I love assistance stuff and one of the Templates has a shit load of assistance work, It seems as if Lord Wendler kinda gave in to adding stuff since he was asked and incessant amount of “can I do this” and “Can I replace this with this” and “what if I did this” kind of questions.

tell me more about this rhodiola and relora…where do you get it at, etc??

In terms of Rhodiola, I grabbed the following from Wiki:

Rhodiola rosea may be effective for improving mood and alleviating depression. Pilot studies on human subjects showed that it improves physical and mental performance, and may reduce fatigue.

I know they sell it here and I believe you want to look at the Rosavins content. I found one at a local ‘Health food’ store that had 100mg at 15% rosavins for about the same price as the TN bottle.

http://www.T-Nation.com/store/supplements/rhodiola.jsp

In terms of Relora, I grabbed the following from the InterWeb:

Relora is believed to work by binding to specific stress receptors in the body, such as the glucocorticoid receptor. By binding to these sites, the body no longer feels the need to produce more cortisol. This dramatically lowers the amount of cortisol being circulated in the body, and as a side effect, also reduces the symptoms associated with stress.

I know I’ve read that Poliquin is a big fan of Relora supplementation at night. Maybe it’s placebo effect but I find I have a better nights sleep when I take it. Again, you can probably find it at a local ‘Health Food’ store.

I know NOW foods sells Relora.

http://www.nowfoods.com/Search/nf_search_results.htm?search=Relora&search_btn=Search

But from the sounds of things, you may want to (probably should) go the medical route first as suggested by Hallowed and see what effect that has before getting into these ‘herbal’ remedies. My $.02.

Keep training though. I believe things would feel WAY worse if you weren’t get that endorphin rush from daily exercise. I know that is very true for me.

Ummmm I know there’s a “5/3/1 for Football” one… But I was pretty sure you weren’t doing that one

Yeah I did 5/3/1 for a few months and liked it but I ended up stopping because my OHP sucks cause of my shoulder surgery. I can’t really press a barbell for jacksquat :frowning: I have been thinking about running it again though.

I’m doing it for the DL mainly…and for front squats and OHP. I really like front squats and am more eager to do them, so why not. I’ll switch it over to back squats eventually.

I’d really like to be a part of the 200+ lb club  (squats, not body weight) I’ve been there before

This morning I went out into the sparkling sunshine to do hill sprints. But walked a mile then came back home to do bike sprints instead. Knees have been extra cranky, grrr

Just a bit ago I did a quick mile on my bike, then pushed/pulled tires with the hubby. He made us a harness out of rope. I can totally see him doing all that warrior athlete type stuff.

At this point, my goal is to just keep moving and not eat crap.
I’m training to be awesome. Not focused on losing the lbs but just trying like hell to keep the lbs at bay. Maybe(hopefully!!) I will still get some residual body comp effects.

I’m proud to be a stubborn/determined biotch. Keep moving or die inside. The buzz I get from training(and caffeine) keeps me going…

I’m excited for your tire harness set-up! Awesome! And training with the hub is priceless.

Stay stubborn and determined. I like you that way.

And glad you are taking a break from the dieting and just eating well. Since it is summer and fresh produce will be everywhere you’ll have no trouble staying away from the crappy foods.

That’s right girl.
that’s just right.

Keep moving and don’t eat crap.

And keep pursuing treatment.

Ur a soldier sister.

hey cool, read you got an Adaptive Motion Trainer to play with. I love them, too. well… so far as cardio goes…

You have such a good outlook, you will be able to accomplish anything you set your mind to!!

ah… been catching up with the hypothyroid stuff… i have subclinical hyperthyroidism (low tsh normal free levels). only got the free level tests after the tsh one came back abnormally high twice, though. not quite sure why they don’t run the free ones as a matter of course… try and get them if you can. apparently those levels are the ones that are correlated with symptoms. you just take medication to give you whatever the thyroid normally produces in the hypo case.

in my case… if my free levels get too high then i think i need my thyroid removed. which will mean i’ll need the medication to give me whatever the thyroid normally produces or i’d develop symptoms of hypothyroidism. damn endocrine system :frowning: if anyone notices my eyes are buggy in my vids let me know…

MiM, your T-vix pictures look GREAT!!!

You’re doing the right things.

Enjoy the new playground at World Gym!

you’re on!! let’s race to pushup glory!!!

You should do FST7.

Killer workout mama
Looks like you utilized a lot of nice fun equipment.

Oh and I’m glad you gave up your position about posting in SAMA because you’re lookin’ hot girl!

You better do it. I need more FST7 minions. I have a plan…
