i have to agree w/ Big Pun this thread makes me want to throw shit around. very annoying.
Renegade chef good points…all of them taken in thank you. Well I geuss any support group screams BFL then…You know your tough guys and can do it on your own so god forbid any support group cause it is sappy, and not “hardcore” , listen if you don’t like what you have read or are intererested in it then I frankly don’t want to know your opinion…and don’t care if it has BFL written all over it…its our way of getting enough motivation to stay on this diet for 28 days and not go insane…deal with it. As for Marshall…What you said was very true but I think he was reffering to jerky you make yourself…had some deer jerkey today mmmmm good… i was actually looking at a dehydrator for 19$!!! today at walmart but didn’t shell out for it maybe a late xmas present from someone? Renegade is there anything I should try to start losing again…cause im gonna go through with this 28 days if it kills me…I just need a way to break this plateau…BTW I had been doing t-dawg for 6 monthes before this and I wanted to speed things up a bit…I havent just jumped right on a crash diet to lose weight…Just a change of pace for me…
Pugs
Thanks again renegade that was one of the most informative things that helped me understand all of this, you do a very good job of putting into laymens…
Pugs
Pugs, I’m not to familiar with the various diets used by the T-mag forum, I briefly read some of the info on the diet and your other posts and hopefully this info will help you jump start again. First of all, when you refer to your salads I hope your refering to spinach salads and not lettuce, because lettuce is pretty much worthless, with spinach you get plenty of antioxidants which you know are important for attaching to free radicals or the carbon chains that break away from fat during oxidation.
Another thing you need to watch is the amount of h2o you consume, I’m not sure the amount of sodium you are ingesting right now, but with the chx broth I’m sure its a fair amount. You have to be concerned with dehydration via dehydration itself and dehydration via overhydration, which is caused by excessive fluid intake in which not only are h2o soluble vitamins excreted but sodium can be excreted to, resulting in dehydration.
Although, the second scenerio alpplies mainly towards thoughs who drink gallons of h2o daily or those involved in endurance events in which they lose significant amounts of sodium and fail to replenish it. Since I’m not sure what food sources you are currently consuming or are allowed to consume on this diet, I will make a few assumptions, please tell me if I’m wrong.
I’m assuming nuts are part of the diet so raw almonds and walnuts would be a great addition to the diet as they are high in the efa’s. There was also a point made in a previous post about the effect of a diet based on liquids which will effect the gastrointestinal or digestive enzymes which is correct, but since you realize that and are only committed to finishing this diet for your set time period and not use it forever, that should not be a problem, plus I’m assuming that you also have some whole foods in the diet. If possible, again I’m not sure, but any carbs you consume if any, should be post-workout to help increase cell absorption of nutrients and help minimize the drain effect that you will have post-workout. As far as the training, for your cardio are you doing straight cardio or HIIT style cardio and I’m not sure that a 5x5 program is best to be used while on a restricted kcal and macronutrient diet, I would suggest more of a traditional approach with multiple sets and reps of compound exercises with 30-45 seconds between sets.
Obviously this is not the ideal training scheme used any more but, it will fit well with a very restrictive diet, rather than using the 5x5 which is more designed towards strength and to a certain extent size. My biggest concern is that with the restricted kcal, hard training, and lack of glycogen you will use lbm for energy and tissue regeneration which will completely defeat the purpose of dropping weight. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours. On a side note, if at somepoint after this diet is over, I would highly recommend including some carbs in your next diet plan. A properly structured diet including all three macronutrients from “clean” sources can produce tremendous results. Most people tend to blame carbs for the fattness of society, but if you look at the main source of food for most people it is based around fast food and junk food, which is far from healthy sources of food let alone carbs.
Also, i think some of my recipes on renegadetraining will apply to your current food selections, nothing major, just small ways to add flavor and variety to diets. Let me know if you need anything else.
Dehydration by overhydration? Uh, no. Your kidneys are a little more sophisticated than that. It sounds great but has no basis in reality.
Hey, Dont let the shit talkers bother you guys. Just ignore it and go on. If you respond, so will they. You guys and doin great and i like reading about your progress. I guess bets has stopped posting because of the dumbasses but i hope she is doing well to.
Happy Christmas and keep up the good work. Ignore the assholes who are knocking what you are doing. I have a simple message to them - you dont like this thread? THEN DONT READ/POST IN IT!
Hope you both reach your goals - I for one am interested in hearing about your progress.
First of all I was trying to give Pugs the idea overhydration can be an issue, I was comparing it to dehydration because most people understand dehydration but they dont understand overhydration or h2o intoxification. (My bad for the wording!) But back to overhydration, yes it is possible for healthy adults to drink to much water and become overhdrated. The last time I used the Anabolic diet I was drinking 4 gallons of h2o per day and my sodium levels dropped big time. I was lucky and all my doc had to do was tell me to lay off h2o and fluids until my sodium levels went back to normal. Overhydration is a relevant issue with keto diets because everyone recommends increased h2o intake, but there is a point that it can be excessive and over a prolonged period of time have serious side effects.
so what you are saying is that your this totaly buffed dude, and really smart guy that likes fat chicks? lol. well i guess it’s like the song goes, if you wanna be happy for the rest of your life get a fat ugly ass ho to be yo wife.if you wanna be happy with all you do get a fat ugly ho to marry you. merry x-mas oink oink
There is QUITE a difference between the normally recommended “increased” amounts of water intake and 4 gallons a day. That borders on the consumption of people with psychogenic polydipsia. I didn’t say that overconsumption of water was impossible. What I did say is that it doesn’t lead to dehydration. Hyponatremia isn’t dehydration. Having said that, any normal amount of water consumed will not cause even a modest drop in serum sodium. Ridiculous amounts will. I’m not implying anything bad about you here, but I think your info is a little off-based.
Bets & Pugs,
Keep up the fight. My wife and I start next week. Ignore the 5’10", 200 @ 5% studs that post here because they’re full of shit. It takes a ton of dedication and commitment to finish a 28day FF so keep at it.
Only problem I see is that you imply that you’d like to be in the single digits of bodyfat after only 28 days. If I’m mistaken about the following I apologize. Mathematically it just ain’t gonna happen. Your talking about ~40lbs. Losing 1.4lbs a day for 28 days just doesn’t happen. Very simplistically, you would have to create a 3500+ calorie deficit per day. Brock lost ~0.5lbs per day. Again if I’m mistaken, I apologize. I just don’t want anyone coming on here and thinking that losses like that are realistic.
BTW, while ranting against the “kids” that have posted you mentioned that you were not fat. Dude, 23% is fat. 31% is fat. Actually those percentages are close to being clinically obese. Not starting a flame war just trying to bring some sanity. I am ~20% and while I can hide it well and even look “powerful” in gym clothes, the proof is “lookin good nekid” and that my friend is where 23% whether with muscle or without is fat.
Keep FF’ing and T-Dawging and you should look great by Spring. Take it for what it’s worth. Croooz
Congrats to your success and contuine on! Don’t listen to those asshole and jerks that are knocking you. We all want to hear about your progress. And I think its healthy for you to post your progress on this forum. I hope all goes well and that you acomplish your goals… Good Luck and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year…
why dont you guys try training at Curves for Women? it has done wonders for me. you can’t beat the no pressure environment. no guys staring at you, or skinny girls with skimpy clothes on. i really love the 30 min circuit training routine. all of my obese friends have had great success at Curves.
wait a minute, did i hear you say no im not fat and neither is my girlfriend? lol, ha ha ha!!! 23 and 31% respectivley. yeah your right i love the 250lb hotties also. do you play pro ball or something? because that is known as a slump buster where im from. or maybe your taking one for the team? gimme a freaken break, this thread sucks. this is not what t-mag is about. fat people trying to lose weight can go see my boy richard simmons, and you can sweat your fat ass to the 80’s. this is a hardcore bb site. you cant even get you and your gf into a healthy state let alone be a hardcore bb. so please let us get back to our discussions on the latest supps, raw iron, and gear. late.
As much as I hate to admit it, Big Pun is right. Still, keep us updated on your progress (numbers). I think we’re all interested whether people succeed on the FF, fat or not.
Ill post my after pics in a bit big pun as soon as I get a hold of a scanner…
Pugs
Hey, pugs: I just read your letter in Reader Mail. I just wanted to throw in my “keep it up” here. You and Bets are doing a great job by keeping this here on the forum.
For the idiots who just "don't get it" - this forum ain't just for "hardcore BB'ing" - it's for anyone who wants to get informed on anything from bodybuilding, fitness, nutrition or to improve conditioning for a particular sport. Even to lose bodyfat.
Kewl work you two - stay committed!
Keep up the good work and use the unkind posts as motivation you know “Tackle’n Fuel”
Guys, I give you props for your efforts, but Pugs u gotta chill (take a 5-HTP or something)… Your letter makes it seem like everyone and their mother are out to flame you. Most of the posts have been categorically supportive. Just keep doin your thang, and keep 2 things in mind: sticks and stones, and the 1st amendment)… Best of luck!
Yeah, Pugs sure does sound cranky. Heh. But you gotta remember that he’s in ketosis AND a starvation state. When I get hungry, people start to morph into chicken legs and ham a la Looney Toons.
The way I see it is, this forum is there for anyone who wants to improve their body - in whatever fashion they deem. Stronger? Leaner? Healthier? Freakier? We’re on your side. Bets and Pugs are heavy, and they’re doing something about it. Fuck, I like that a lot better than the people who aren’t doing something about it.
But, I’m starting to miss Bets. I’m /beginning/ to think that she didn’t make it. I’m /almost/ gonna chalk this one up as a loss.
