well fellas,
Today is day 9 and im still going strong over here. Salads have been my whole food god send lately eating lots and lots on it with vinegar lately, really give me that full feeling and is damn good. My weight is 239 now not sure what my bodyfat is cause im not gonna test it again till i can felx my muscle enought to give an accurate reading so im not garabbing muscle and fat(AFTER WORKOUT TONIGHT I CN’T FLEX MY CHEST SO ILL WAIT A FEW DAYS)The only place that i have started to notice any diff is in my upper ab I can see the outside seperation as well as starting to be able to see the median between the two sides, everything else I can’t see. My love handles are my worst part of my body…big… I have a very female BF pattern fat in my love handles, my butt and legs and I hate it but at least im proportional…G.B.C was very hard tonight i felt like i was gonna pass out. Cardio i’ll do tommorow on elliptical. need to get my cals up still not consuming enough! anyways onto day 10 for me…wish me luck…thanks Hark and tampa terry for your responses i think I might make some of bet’s good flax salad dressing and have it on my salad to get enough fat.anyways adios and GL ALL

Hey paul–I’m still going strong, but hadn’t posted because of the # of gibberish responses, and comments like Big Puns. I guess I just felt that it wasnt worth my time, but its good to know that somebody is interested in my progress, it just seemed like a few people didnt like the thread. Anyways, I am down to 228.5 from 241.5 in 9 days. Havent even cheated yet, which is, without a doubt, probably my greatest accomplishment in a long time, especially because I have had to sit through a myriad of holiday parties and family dinners, but I just swallow my shake and shut up about it. It really is funny how your taste buds change. I’m getting sick of the protein shakes, but the sweets and stuff arent really tempting me. I mean, it would be great to have them, but i dont feel the NEED like I used to before. I think I do a little bit better every day, so I am feeling great. I can definetly see changes in my stomach, chest, and face. I dont even think it will be too hard to stick to it over christmas. I guess I just now feel that food is fuel, not some pleasure thing. I’m proud of that realization. I’ll try to post more often, but I am still here and going strong. only 18 more days!!!
A bunch of us are really rooting for you guys. Don’t let the shit posts get you down. I’ve never seen people really succeed on this, though we know it’s possible. Usually people fuck it up after the diet. I’d like to see you guys make it. THEN we can use you as an example of success.
I’ve decided to join you two in your fat fast. I’ll be eating fish/chicken/oil for the most part. On Saturdays I’ll take my whole caloric intake from pure protein, with as little fat as possible. I’ll do 3x30min cardio, and 5x5 starting Monday. It’ll be interesting to try this diet again.
Ok, now I have a question. I am going on a 10 hour road trip, by myself, through the night. I dont want to bring my shakes with me because then i’ll have to pee, and rest stops at 3am, (alone as a female) scare the hell out of me. I was wondering if it was ok, (as long as I dont go over my calories) if I have low carb protein bars. I had one today that I liked, just to try before I buy them for my trip. It was optimum nutrition, “protein diet” chocolate mint. it had 180 cals, 2.5g fat, 1 carb (18 sugar alcohol, but I was told those dont count because they are just like glue and are non-digestable) and 20g protein. So is that OK for my road trip, as long as I get my flax seed oil?? Could I even have one of those every day in place of a shake?

i think my posts are quite constructive. i bring a little dose of reality to these threads. i thought this was a hardcore bb site, not some place for a fat couple to post their freaken daily caloric intake. this thread isnt helping anyone. if they need support im sure their are plenty of jenny craigs and weight watchers organizations that will be happy to help.

Hey, Bets. My recommend is that you not use the low-carb protein bars. I know how some companies/manufacturers advertise about 0 carbs, their logic being 0 carbs that affect blood sugar. However, they’re really NOT low carb. It’s a marketing trick that the FDA is starting to clamp down on. Pack yourself some tuna, chicken breasts and the like. Myself, I like the low-carb Grow so much, I’ll eat a scoop of the powder right out of the tub.

I have been involved with this sport area for almost seven years now, I am at the second half of my sophomore in college studying exercise physiology…I won the world powerlifting championships in las vegas at the age of 15 just one month before the meet. IDK about you but I don’t know too many kids who just turn 15 and can deep knee squat 400 lbs. at a weight of between 216-220, or to mention dead-lift 435 pounds at that age with only one year under their belt as a powerlifter. I am not fat and neither is my girlfriend, she came to this site to be with a group or a place that she could find solice and peer support as well as the best information on the net…For any of you wondering we haven’t been posting on here because of all this flack and shit we have been getting from assholes like you who are good for nothing’s anyway!. You are the type of people who got their lunch money taken away in elementary school and get pleasure out of being however old you are and insulting other adults just to pleasure yourself…you need to grow up a little bit you immature fucking brat. Couple of points:
I think that a good beef jerkey is the best “low-carb protein bar” out there. If you need to, you can eat it with fake juice (crystal lite) to help soften it up.
As well Pugs, remember that you’ve lost a lot of water weight. If you were to eat carbs for a day, you’d probably shoot up 5-8lbs. But none of that would be fat. So, your bodyfat might be a bit higher now, but it will look a lot better once your glycogen is restored (which you don’t want to do yet.).
Most beef jerky has sugar in it. Some beef jerky has a LOT of sugar in it. Big Pun and Richard Simmons have a point about the sappy support group aspect. It screams Body-For-Life. We’re trying to find sanctuary from cutesy-ness and pink dumbells, sweetie.
Not to start a carb war, but unless your trying to get super ripped then carbs are an essential part of the diet. Like El-Machinae said the initial loss on a carb restricted diet is due to the fact that with each gram of glycogen that is stored roughly 4 grams of h2o is stored with it, so when you carb deplete you lose x-lbs of h2o then when you replenish glycogen you gain x-lbs of h2o. The fat loss comes from the most simplest of things kcal intake vs. kcal expenditure. And yes I’m aware of the thermic effects of food and adaptive thermogenisis created by certain foods or excess protein, but for an overweight person with excess fat the % of contribution to kcal expenditure of these processes is minimal. Where as the rest of us trying to get shredded it will play an integral part to the diet. There is also the issue of gluconeogenesis in which glycogen is made with other macro nutrients specifically amino acids. There are instances where this can be a great thing, but then again if you are carb depleted and your protein intake is insuffecient to both supply energy and to be used as its main purpose of tissue regeneration then you will tap into lbm for the amino acids necessary for protein synthesis and gluconeogenesis, in which case you actually end up lowering your RMR and kcal expenditure because of less lbm, this wouldn’t be a huge problem over a few days but the effects continued for several weeks could wreak havoc on your metabolism and normal homeostasis. Based on the given information and body composition levels, I would highly recommend slowing the process down and doing it the right way although it may take longer than you desire. Forget about all the supplements and flax oil, in your situation they are not that important. Exercise and a diet based on clean foods such as fresh vegetables, lean beef cuts, chicken, pork, fish, limited fruits, oatmeal, yams, egg whites, moderate egg yolks, h2o, and a basic vitamin mineral supplement will get you off to a much better start that going for the grand slam with a carb restricted diet. The inclusion of the strict exercise regiments that you are using will only add to the results of this all to simple but highly effective diet strategy. It will also ensure that you have plenty of glucose available for your workouts and energy production, plenty of lipids for hormonal production, and plenty of amino acids for tissue regneration and maintenance. Just my 2 cents though.
