The skitzophrenia (bad spelling, i know) is running rampant on this thread. I think it’s time 5th Grade held kids until 7pm.
Seriously knock this fucking shit off bunch of fucking immature brats, its really starting to get on my god damned nerves. grow the fuck up. you don’t belong on this forum.
Pugs
I agree completely, Pugs. These morons have probably somehow found this site by accident and begun “hounding” this thread for no reason in particular. I think it’s disgraceful and I do not find it funny in the least. Perhaps this stupidity will end if you simply tell them what you MAX BENCH IS!!! Whooooooooooooooo!!!
Something tells me you guys are being paid back for attacking TEK and others who were only trying to help you on that other thread.
We didn’t attack TEK…He was off base for saying what he did, and I would never think he would have said what he did, totally not like him, it was how he said it moreso than what he said…I know for a fact and have read about several women who had been successful with fat fast, vixie backed that up as well as the obvious two women mentioned by brock in the article as well as another reader mail I believe. So him tell My GF that was very off-base cause he had nothing to back it up. Just like knuckleheads who tell me all this negative stuff in the gym like lots of protein will destroy ur kidneys, but then they don’t back it up. The question wasn’t whether women were successful as in stayed on it the entire 28 days but successful as in losing a decent amount of bodyfat for those who did stay on it the entire 28 days. It would have been one thing if he had said that some women have had success with it and said what type of results they had. But to just say that no women he knows has had success with it is kinda biased. For god sakes some people had success the warrior diet, only a few, bu just because it was just a few doesn’t mean that no one had success with it. Patricia said it open-mindedly and didn’t sound biased and that would have been the more correct way to say it without stepping on toes. No hard feelings to TEK just think what he said was really off-base and not correct.
Just A thought.
Pugs
Well then, just don’t ask for advice if you don’t want to hear it.
And for your info, the failure rate of the Fat Fast really IS very high, especially for women. I’d glad it worked for some, but that doesn’t take away the fact that it’s just too tough for many, unnessarily tough according to many, like some of the T-mag staff. And the lady Brock worked with FAILED as TEK pointed out. So he kindly offered another low carb options that have been more successful. I also recall that a couple of Gang of Babes girls, Michelle for one, failed on the diet. Maybe you weren’t around on the forum then to hear about all these failures with the diet.
Listen, we want Bets to succeed, that’s why we’re offerring advice. But you two seem to only throw temper tantrums every time you get some advice you don’t want to hear. Then you do all this smoochy smoochy shit that makes most of us sicker than the Fat Fast! Anyway, if you don’t want feedback, advice, or criticism, don’t post all over the place about your diet.
Paul,
Did you read what I just wrote? I wasn’t asking about who failed on it cause they dropped out. thats what U were refering to. I was talking about who out of the people who did it for 28 days had good results. I have no question in my mind that we both can go 28 days, we just wanted to know that if we stayed on it for 28 days what types of results could we expect. Read what i wrote before you post about something i just talked about. We don’t really find this to be very harsh, she says its alot easier than any of the other diets shes done…like t-dawg. cause she is not very resistent to temptations, like with regular food she’ll have something and that would bring out a temptation for another cheat food and she would give in very easily. But with this there is no chance that she will cheat cause she can’t have anyhting but shakes and an occasional protein food so she doesnt give into the temptations. Kinda see what im saying? For example shes the type of person who can’t have cheat meals in the middle of a diet cause when she does she can’t get back on track. This is because when she cheats it brings out a whole other slew of temptations. But when she can’t cheat this doesn’t happen. thats why she actually likes this diet. I don’t necessarily like the diet but Im cool with it, cravings but no hunger pains whatsoever like brock said. I don’t see why we aren’t gonna succeed in finishing with this diet. The question was never on the amount of people who failed cause they gave up and didn’t finish, the question was of those who did finish how many got good results in BF lost? As for the kissy stuff as you call it…That is our way of motivating each other together sense we are 800 miles apart. But if that makes you all sick then we’ll stop. I ain’t got time to argue about this anymore, ive said what ive said and its over with you post ur response then just let it go for god’s sakes. Argueing like this is very immature.
Pugs
Well day six is over. this diet doesnt seem to be bothering me at all anymore no hunger pains no cravings. Im good to go. Yesterday I have way below my cals only 849…I had a must pass exam bright and early this morn so i was up all night studying, and I wasn’t too hungry anyways. Yesterday I did german Body comp and I liked it so I decided that thats gonna be my workout of choice. I also did a half an hour of Cardio on the elliptical. I have noticed something though, Since after the first 3 days of weight loss I havent budged it’s frustrating cause I don’t know whether to up my cals do more cardio cut my cals or what? any suggestions are welcome as to what it maybe is or what i can do to sped up fat loss a bit. Anyways Im dog tired and im going to bed finally for a long time, Im gonna slam 75gs of protein before I do btw. peace
Pugs
BTW any reasoning into my problem is greatly appreciated as well as what I can do to speed things up. I think my body is being very stubborn and holding onto the fat.
ADIOs
Good going and I am very excited hearing about your diet and exarcise. and hope all goes well. Plese undrstand I do not speak English much but want congratulate you and know what is your goal and specially WHAT IS YOUR MAX BENCH!!! Whoooooo!!!
Hi, Pugs. I wanted to throw out a few of my ideas.
One, please follow the FF plan as it was designed and take in ALL of the calories you’re supposed to take in. Yes, you’re trying to create a deficit so that your body draws on fat reserves, but at the same time you’re trying to keep muscle catabolism to a minimum. Dropping calories and increasing cardio are guaranteed to work against your goals of dropping body fat. You don’t want WEIGHT loss; you want BODY FAT loss. You need to eat whether you’re hungry or not, whether you want to throw up or not.
Are you getting enough water? At your weight, I believe you should be taking in about a gallon a day. I know that’s going to be terribly hard for you, but it’s a critical component of fat-loss success.
Here’s something that might help. I like to make a green tea mixture with raspberry tea added in. Buy your normal, generic green tea. Also, buy a box of Celestial Seasons herbal raspberry flavored tea. I use 2:1 ratio of green tea to raspberry tea bags. Use Splenda for sweetness (no calories, no carbs). Drink hot or cold. Carry a timer and drink a cup/glass every hour.
Weight loss on the FF is fastest in the beginning because you’re using up glycogen stored in the muscles. As glycogen is utilized, the water that’s stored with the glycogen is released/excreted. Now that you’re glycogen stores are depleted, weight loss is going to slow down, but that’s normal. Just keep with the plan. Be kind to yourself. Spoil yourself as much as you can in no-food ways. Low/no carbs can affect brain chemistry. If you have trouble sleeping (a downside to FF), buy some melatonin and L-Theanine. They work differently, but synergistically, and will ensure you get lots of REM (restorative) sleep.
One last thing, I’d like to see you change the ratio of oil you’re taking in to 2:1 in favor of flaxseed oil. Flaxseed oil is an Omega-3 fatty acid; it ultimately creates ANTI-inflammatory prostaglandins (hormone like substances). Sunflower oil is high in Omega-6 fatty acids, which ultimately are responsible for creating PRO-inflammatory prostaglandins. Both are needed and necessary for balance and fatty acid homeostasis. However, most Americans get enough Omega-6s in their diet and not anywhere near enough Omega-3s. Additionaly, the sunflower or safflower oil you buy in the supermarket is probably partially hydrogenated to enhance shelf life ( a VERY, VERY bad thing for health). If you’re going to use sun- of safflower oil, buy the expeller pressed / cold pressed type that would ideally have a “Use By” date on it.
Best of luck to both you and Bets !!!
Well, its day 7 and I cant believe I am still going strong. As of this morning (end of day 6) I am down 11 lbs. I’m pretty proud of that. My calories are now consistently between 1200-1300 and I’m not strugglin to reach that anymore. I am doing German Body comp instead of 5x5, I dont know why, but Pugs thought it would be a better idea. So, I went to the gym before work this morning and did cardio for a while, I might go back tonight, but I dont want to push it. So, the cravings have pretty much subsided, but tomorrow there will be a big obstacle as we are having an office xmas party. I figure I’ll just lock myself away somewhere until all the food is gone…who know. I havent cheated yet and I’m down 11 lbs, so I am feeling pretty good.
Thanks terry for your response, you said how omega 6s are bad for you when u posted last but when Im consuming a diet that has no Omega 6s in it wouldnt it be a good idea to at least have some in my diet? I choose the sunflower oil from a health food stroe cause it had something like 8g Polyunsaturates and 5g monounsaturates so I felt this would be a good choice…I mixed the two together to make an oil blend of poly and mono unsaturates so Im not gonna waste it Ill just stick with plain flax next time. I have been under mmy water consumption for the most part (About 80-90oz a day of crystal light and diet soda) I geuss im supposed to be geting about 120ozs a day? Ive never thought about green tea and i actually do like that stuff by itself, do you think itll help that much in terms of fat loss? Thanks…
Pugs
well Day 7 is finally over for me…Im taking my BF tommorow to see where im at My total loses so far have been about 13-14 lbs, Ill find out of what tommorow. I went overon my cals today by about 300 but i don’t think it’ll hurt much…Itll prolly upregulate my metabolism a little bit if im
Lucky. Carbs have still been kept low, below 25 on non-workout days. No gym for me today I needed a big break. Ill hit it again tommorow when i get home for break. Im so glad the semester is over finnally. Onto day 8 for me.
Very proud of you betsy, you are doing a wonderful job, and im very proud of you that you have gotten this far , keep it up bets your doing wonderful only 20 more days to go hunny and were there! yours truly,
Pugs
Good questions! Let me see if I can do a better job of clarifying.
Omega 3 fatty acids and Omega 6 fatty acids are both ESSENTIAL fatty acids. “Essential” because the body doesn’t make them and because both are required by the body for health and balance. So you’re right on that one. Omega 6s aren’t bad for you. They ARE required by the body. It’s just that you need a higher proportion of Omega 3s (like flaxseed oil or salmon or fish oil or sardines, mackerals, etc.) to Omega 6s.
I’m glad to hear you got your sunflower oil from the health food store. Most of the stuff in the grocery stores has been partially hydrogenated to extend shelf life and is, as a result, toxic to the body. My recommendation was only that you reverse the ratio, that you use 2 parts of flaxseed oil (high in Omega 3s) to 1 part of sunflower oil (high in Omega 6s). If I remember correctly, you were using 2 parts sunflower oil and 1 part flaxseed oil. As I said in my last post, most Americans get enough Omega 6s, but not enough Omega 3s, which is why I asked you to tip things in favor of the flaxseed oil. Omega 3 fatty acids are responsible for creating ANTI-inflammatory prostaglandins (hormone like substances). Anti-inflammatory is a good thing. There are a lot of inflammatory conditions that would benefit from Omega 3 supplementation, like asthma, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, sore muscles (from working out), allergies, psoriasis. The list goes on. Consider it an investment in your future health and well being.
Flaxseed oil (all oils and fats for that matter) integrate themselves into the membranes of the cells. Flaxseed oil keeps the membranes fluid, allowing waste and nutrients to travel in and out easily, resulting in better performance at a cellular level.
Okay. Green tea. It’s an incredible antioxident. Speaking of which, you should probably be taking at least 800 IUs of mixed tocopherol/tocotrienol Vitamin E. The good stuff is expensive, sorry. But that’s because you’re burning fat for energy and fatty type free radicals are being created.
I often use the analogy of a campfire. The body like the campfire is burning fuel. The campfire burns wood; your body burns fat. The burning of the campfire creates smoke; your body burning fat creates free radicals. Bottom line, when you’re on the FF, you need to up your antioxidants, which quench free radicals.
So back to green tea. It’s a potent antioxidant. It has low levels of caffeine, which will give you a bit of an energy boost (but not like coffee, which can give you the jitters). It’s thermogenic; i.e., aids in fat loss. Adding in an herbal red raspberry tea bag will just give it a wonderful twist/taste and a fragrant aroma; it doesn’t have any of green tea’s benefits.
I can’t do it while I’m writing this message, but do some research on water intake here on t-mag. My memory is that you need a lot more than 120 ounces of water. You probably need to be taking in more like a gallon a day. FF increases your water intake requirements. Check into it. This one’s important. Drinking enough water will help you lose weight.
My last suggestion is that you if you’re not gettting the results you’re hoping for, experiment with your carb refeeds and maybe even consider cutting them out altogether. Your energy will suffer, I know. Even your brain chemistry will suffer. FF is rough. But the bottom line is, if insulin is present (a result of taking in any carbs whatsoever), fat mobilizing hormone is ABSENT. You have to play around with the carb refeeds and only take in that amount of carbs which will not bring your progress to a halt. My belief is that that number would be highly individual.
Hate to break it to you, but 120oz of water is roughly equal to a gallon.
120oz x 30ml/oz = 3600ml
One gallon is roughly 3.6L.

Pugs, you’re doing great in the water department!
P.S.: Harkonnen, you’re always so nice when you point out factual errors or errors in logic. Keep up the good work!!!
