Hello
What is your best tips to achieve a complete&great ass to grass squat?
For preparation, or warm up to target the specific muscles and fire them up and finally load more and more?
What can I do to gain even more depth and the same time avoid lower back to excessively extend and prevent the overarch ?
Will a gym belt provide serious help to that ?
You dont want to squat ass to grass
Edit: Unless you compete in Olympic weightlifting.
Not everyone can “ass to grass” no matter what they do.
I can but I am very flexible plus I have the perfect limb lengths to make that happen.
Squat as low as you can without your lower back rounding and while staying tight. Some people will never be able to no matter what they do. They can stretch their hip flexors, glutes, hips, hamstrings, calves, and even have a strong core but won’t be able to do it. Go as low as your body allows while staying tight.
I know, lucky enough I can do it too(I guess we are lucky aren’t we? I actually feel my legs on fire when asstograss), but I do it with lighter weight than I want, so I was wondering what can I do to finally load some more without having the back issues I described?
Do you perform any special exercises before your squats ?
Is the case the same for you too?
I mean squat normal with heavier weight than you use when squatting very low, or its just me having some weakness?
Really, learn how to squat to just below parallel. Squatting ass to grass has no benefit unless you have to catch a clean or snatch and need to learn how to get out of that position. Like you say, clearly it creates some distress in your back, so you would benefit more from just learning to squat at or just below parallel.
What are your goals?
To break the record for most new threads in the first three months.
I was just trying to be nice/helpful.
She seems like a nice lady, but I guess she’ll just learn the ebb and flow of the forum.
Can’t say I didn’t try though lol
Ha! Just re-read the name. I read it as poison-steve
Well I think that’s her actual photo so I just figured she was a lady
Nothing sciencey about it, just my observation, but I think front squats somewhat force your form to stay better down in the hole of an atg squat.
Maybe try goblet squats with like X-X-X tempo to get really good at popping out of the hole before adding a bunch of weight.

Thanks!!
What do you think about the belt? Would it help to somewhat stabilize my lower back ?
I don’t think much of belts unless its used for near max or explosive effort.
Better strategy would be to make sure your spine and pelvis are stable, mobile, and strong. F you’re using a belt in place of a strong core and good stable skeleton you’re going to get hurt.
