Best Supps for Focus?

-I was recently assigned night shifts

-My artwork/music is suffering as I work best (creativity) at night.

-On my days off I am tired/sleepy at night so, getting into the “zone” is difficult.

Is there anything I can take to give me focus, etc. during the day/night? I would prefer caffeine free (just a preference) but, if there is something out there with it I am willing to try it.

I have been looking into Brain Candy and was wondering if it can be stacked with other things for better effects.

if you’re lucky a couple of gentlemen name jeruvalez and PB Andy will chime in on the topic of nootropics.

It’s a topic you may want to research

Check out Modafinil

Stacking Brain Candy with phenylpiracetam would be a good option (especially since Brain Candy already includes sources of choline). However, since phenylpiracetam can be stimulating, I would use the caffeine free version of Brain Candy. Also, since a tolerance to phenylpiracetam can develop quickly, I would try and limit it to just a few times each week (100-200 mg each time).

You could try Brain Candy caffeine-free for sure and see how it works out. The ALCAR, NALT, and L-theanine can all mildly influence dopamine and can give feelings of motivation, well-being, reward, and so on.

I would also try to get the best sleep possible since that is the trickiest part of this. Make sure you are getting blackout curtains, try to shoot for 7.5 hrs of sleep, and take magnesium, Elitepro Minerals is your best bet. Try to get sunlight or go outside as soon as you wake.

For a little kick at night, you can also try a few things. Dark chocolate (85%) has beta-phenylethylamine (PEA) which influences endorphins attributed to feeling pleasure, improve attention, etc. You can try 30-40 grams or so. It has minimal caffeine.

You may also want to fool around with the 'racetams. Piracetam and others (such as aniracetam) can have mild stimulation by influencing acetylcholine, among many other effects. They can also increase noradrenaline which can help your concentration. I wouldn’t take racetams at night, rather take them in an afternoon meal. YMMV: some people feel the effects of racetams, some don’t. Some feel them immediately (could be placebo), but some studies have showed that it can take a few days or even weeks for the effects to kick in. Aniracetam is supposed to help creativity but that is purely anecdotal, could be from selectively modulating the AMPA receptor.

A double dose of Superfood/quality greens supp can help

Noopept hasn’t been mentioned yet.

I’ve found Tyrosine effective over the course of 3-4 hours. I weigh 145lbs and take 5 grams. Adjust accordingly.

It hasn’t, but some of its cognitive enhancement effects are due to the same mechanisms of action that piracetam has, which is why I didn’t specifically mention it for focus.

However, noopept can influence neurogenesis by BDNF/NGF expression, and can also be a good anxiolytic/mood supp for some as it converts to cyclo-prolylglycine, which can modulate one’s reaction to fear.
