Best Pre-Workout Products

Hey everyone,

I know this is a very broad question, but what are some favorites in pre-workout products that you guys take. I’m currently looking to buy a pre-workout type product(similar to no-xplode, and Xpand by dynamitize) but I’m not really sure as to what people think is the best.

I usually just have a pre workout shake thats identical to my PWO shake. I’m not caffeine sensitive so I never really relied on a stimulant pre-workout.

Same here. Just whey+gatorade during the workout, then Surge after.

Never really needed a pre-workout boost since I get 8-9 hrs sleep, take ZMA and workout in the middle of the day.

Eggs/meat/greek yogurt + nuts + black coffee

Spike and Surge Workout Fuel

3 tsp instant coffee, 5g BCAA, and a scoop of whey.

I tried every pre workout supp going when I first started training… Come to figure out whaat worked best was a lot of food an hour before… 3g’s of L-Tyrosine and 200mg caffine… You’ll save a lot of money this route… IMO

I like to keep it simple: whey isolate and caffeine, maybe some leucine if I’m feeling dangerous.

1/2 cup oatmeal and whey shake…

Complex carbs (1 hour before)
Whey
BCAA
Vitamin C

I find I get a nice boost from the single aminos, mostly tyrosine, also carnitine.About 3.5 grams each. Problem is, taking them with a meal is a waste of your money, they work because they are isolated amino acids, so if you take them with full protein, you’re negating their effect. So if I have the time, I’ll eat a good protein/carb meal about 1.5 hrs before the workout, then 45min later, take my amino with maybe 200mg caffeine. The workout would be 45min after that. I’ll sip a carb/whey drink during the workout.

at 5’10’’ 175, your only supplement should be whey protein and gatorade for your pre-workout mix.

In terms of NO products; I’ve never heard of any success stories from the guys i know who have used them, I’ve never experienced any success when I used them and there isn’t much science to back up their claims from what i’ve read.

In terms of NO products; No one I know who has used them has had good things to say, I have never had any success with with them, and from what I’ve read there seems to be little science to back up their claims.

I’ve been liking my noop supplements pre-workouts recently.

1.5g paracetam
.5g DMAE
and some vinpo (forget the pill amount)
and a Spike for some big PR days.

That’s a pretty ignorant comment.

I agree that newbies shouldn’t get carried away with their supplementation, but there’s absolutely no good reason one shouldn’t use any of the products I’ve seen listed in this thread.

Spike Shotgun or Shooter, Surge Workout Fuel, handful of BCAA’s and two BETA-7.
