After reading Shug’s blog, I was wondering what everyone’s favorite motivating article is weight lifting or otherwise, wether on this site, or elsewhere.
There’s a lot of good one’s out there for sure , but here’s my personal favorite :

“Destiny is yours to make and you’ve got one life to live. Now take your best shot.”-John Davies
Crouching Tiger
Merry Christmas Bob
All of TC’s Atomic Dog editorials are inspiring to me
“Alligator Stew for the Soul”
Get Angry!
All by Chris Shugart:
I Hear Dead People
Merry Christmas Bob
Alligator Stew for the Soul
And any of his “Gut Check” articles in the printed mag back issues.
From TC:
Let Go of the Rock
I’d add
Set Youself on Fire by Chris Shugart

Read my favorite articles, I always enjoy reading some of them when I’m feeling a little low on motivation.
It’s been discussed before,
But Henry Rollin’s article on Iron is pretty motivational as well.
I’m a big fan of TC’s “Graduation Speech 2004”.

But the most inspiring thing about T-Nation is the sheer fucking quality of the whole goddamn site. I’ve spent about a decade and a half saying very much the same things CS and TC keep saying in their articles, which obviously makes them really smart people. Combine this with the sheer brilliance of JB and LL on nutrition, and you have a fucking awesome package already. Add the stellar quality of the MANY coaches and trainers contributing to the site, both through articles and simple participation in the forum, and you shove T-Nation well over the top in terms of ongoing quality.
It’s easy for a site to post one inspiring article, or one brilliant insight, or one impressive tip on training. T-Nation does it day after day, week after week, and somehow manages to balance information for both the expert and the novice. That’s HARD. In fact, it’s beyond hard; if I wasn’t watching this site do it, I’d say it was fucking impossible.
Which is exactly what I’m looking for. I don’t settle for “good enough”. As my trainer hears me say every single workout, “good enough ISN’T”. I’m looking for A-number-one-top-of-the-fucking-line. Elite can piss off, I want the elite of the elite. I want what everyone says CANNOT be done.
And that’s T-Nation.
I really like TC’s “revenge of the nerds” for the motivation, and “how to succeed as a personal trainer” for a good laugh.
Here’s “revenge of the warrior nerds”:
