BEST FISH OIL (Hey McDougal)

This is Marc M, and anyone else wondering about the better fish oil supplements. This info has of-course been posted by myself, Bill Roberts and others in the past, but the questions keep coming. First, please note good old JMB himself, John M Berardi recommends 6-10g TOTAL of EPA & DHA Daily. NOT 6-10g of fish oil! Thats 6,000mg of total EPA & DHA! The best (capsule)option for this is: TwinLabs Dale Alexander TwinEPA Extra Strength Fish oil Concentrate. each capsule has 840mg of EPA/DHA. It is the HIGHEST concentration of EPA/DHA available in capsule form. Netrition sells it for $18.95/60 capsules. It is the best bet considering EPA/DHA Concentration, Quality, and Cost. (You get MUCH less total calories with this product then any others due to the great potency. The tab quality is much better than the others (ie: Sams Clubs Stuff) And 1 Capsule equals what 2-3 of those things-with half the calories-which can help when on a strict diet.

Anyone had any experience with either of the pharmaceutical-grade fish oils (OmegaRx by Sears Labs and OmegaBrite)that are recommended by the Omega Zone diet? They are suppose to be toxin free and more pure. Am thinking about trying them (at aprox 2.5g/daily works out to around $1.30).

I throw down the full ten daily 2 tabs 5x daily when on Massive Eatin’

Jesse, quit trying to be me. I think you left out the “for” in the first sentence of your post. Thanks for the stats, that does blow away the junk I have been using. If you’d quit returning your half used shit to my store maybe we could afford to stock the shelves with it.

Marc, I have about 30/42 packets left of Myoplex. When I am down to 2 I will return the whole box for another flavor!

I just get my fats from beef and Whole milk. Why buy pricey oils? It ia a well known supplement scam!!!

I hope Ed is joking. If not, I may have to put this over on the “dumbest things people have said to you” thread.

Can anyone recommend a good liquid, non-capsule form of fish oil? It seems like it would be more economical.

Twinlab makes the same product in oil form. Yes, it is much cheaper…

Ed, make sure you stop by to see me after your first heart attack. Seriously though, you are joking, right?

I’ve found 3 kinds of liquid fish oil: Twinlab cod liver oil, Twinlab emulsified fish oil, and Health from the Sun liquid fish oil. Either the first or third option works well (though the cod liver oil has tons of vitamins A and D); the second isn’t nealy as cost-efficient and has lots of carbs. Personally, I get the Health from the Sun liquid fish oil from iherb.com. It’s cheap and oh so yummy!

I hate to admit it but but Ijust read Sears new book while in the book store. Nothing new if you have been reading this site for a while. It made me wonder about the quality of supplement fish oils. He claims you must use pharmaceutical grade. It doesn’t say this on Dale Alexanders or any other brand I’ve seen. Of course, you could buy the Zone brand.Spanky-take a swig of cod liver oil. Think it’s worth saving a couple bucks?

Just avoid cod liver oil. Sucks for a variety of reasons. See T-mag for full explanations. They also had a good interview with Udo a few years back. Check it out.

Pharma Quality oil? Marketing BS! The important thing is to just buy a high quality oil. The TwinLab Dail Alexander stuff is the best quality I have found. (In terms of Capsules) So I assume there oil is just as good. They have: “Dale Alexander Emulsified Super max EPA liquid” and a host of other quality fish oils. If you check out the Twinlabs website you search for “Dale Alexander” and it will bring up some good information about all the caps and oils they sell (EPA/DHA amounts.) Personally I prefer the caps.

no joke, your body will convert the bad fats to good ones.

i wonder why they call them essentail fatty acids… it would seem like with essential aminos that your body CAN NOT make them and must get them from foods. Try using your brain. and why do people never get it that you stay away from cod liver oil. search engine

Ed, like I said, please come see me after your first heart attack.

Ed is right, those silly expensive oils are the second biggest supplement scam ever…right after creatine.

Just curious if anyone knows who “Dale Alexander” is? Being that the product is made by twinlab it would seem more appropriate for it to be called “fish oil fuel” or “omega fuel” or something along those lines.

Any one try Coromega - it is powdered omega-3 FA and supposedly oderless and tasteless.
