I’ve been hang and power cleaning for a little over a month and im beginning to incorporate overhead squats. My main focus is technique and proper speed. I know a coach wud be much better than books and videos, but going to the closest O-Lift gym inteferes with work and other priorities (being that this gym has limited hrs). So, what books and videos do you guys suggest are the best and most helpful?

x2 plus I would add Greg Everett’s book on olympic weightlifting as one of the best book resources for beginning the oly lifts. youtube is a good tool for watching some of the lifts but I find when you’re trying to learn watching the elite class lifters doesn’t help much because they move too fast (hence the reason they’re world class) try some of IRONMAVEN’s vids which play elite lifts in slow mo and tags the bar path.
Artie Dreschler’s Encyclopedia of Weightlifting is the definitive book for me. Exhaustive and accessible.
Thanks for the info guys. i’ve been watching the links (especially the youtube ones) and it’s entertaining and informative in their own ways. I’ll look up those books you guys recommend. Will post videos hopefully soon.

I have Greg’s book too. And I agree that it is a very good book for beginners. Straight forward and easy to read with lots of pictures. But the downside is that it is too basic for the advanced.
Totally agree with you on Greg’s book, but I basically got it for the programming information at the back, it is much simpler than Weightlifting Encyclopedia.
look up Misha Kolyykoev’s channel, all fun stuff, but with the odd 200kg snatch!
“The World’s Fastest Lift”
“The World’s Most Powerful Lift”
Along with the ones already mentioned…
Explosive Lifting for Sports is alright

Jim Schmitz Manual & DVD
The Kono Project- has some slowed down lifts from the 2008 National Championships. Kind of cool.

Personally I think the Russian texts are like trying to read a calculus book.
Does anybody know where to get Greg Everett’s book? The only place I found is on performancemenu.com and they charge a high S&H fee.

If you can get your hands on anything by Medvedyev, it reads like a text book and has pretty crappy illustrations, but the info in it is amazing.
