A weld broke on my bench from metal fatigue and now looking for a replacement. It’s old. I think I got it from New York Barbells. It does flat, incline and decline and has a basic leg extension/curl attachment. Does anyone have any recommendations on a replacement that isn’t crazy expensive?
Thanks
This seems to be the problem. Apparently a bench must cost $400 to be built to lift on these days with a barbell.
I would recommend stopping by a local sport reseller if you have anything like that in your area. I picked up an old Tough Stuff FID bench from play it again sports years ago at a good price, and occasionally see deals like that. I also found a second hand rogue flat utility bench when a local CrossFit gym went out of business as well. So if you check on places like that periodically you can find what will work well. I really like the rogue bench and would definitely have bought new after having used it a lot. I think it is something like $200 new but you need a rack and it is nothing fancy with adjustments or leg attachments or anything. You can get some additional angles with something as simple as a building a low box out of wood and resting the bench foot on it.
Rep Fitness seems to have really nice ideas for weight benches but also expect a monthly car payment for one. Haven’t checked anything like elite fitness in awhile but expect the build is fantastic but the cost is more marketed for a full-scale gym and maybe hard to justify for a hobbiest at home.
