I am new to this forum. I have been doing weight traning now for almost a year, abt. 10 months. I am a little over 5’,2" and weigh in at abt 138. I have an hour glass figure,(an overweight one, true). I am building lots of muscle and my kyphosis has almost disappeared. In my forties I developed a small hump on my back. I am 63 yrs old now.
My concern is that I have bat wings, not real bad,but real enough. Also when my arms hang down real loose the skin is like crepe paper and saggy. The bat wings have definetly tightened up,but is it possible for me to get really toned arms with out having to do surgery. My muscles are visible, but so are the ripples. I go sleeveless anyway, because I am proud of what I have accomplished. My trainer says the fat will disappear, but I am skeptical.
Has anyone toned away the flab to have smooth arms?
You can’t “tone away the flab.” You can reduce bodyfat overall and hope that it will come off of places like your arms. However, if you have been overweight for a long time, the odds of your skin tightening up and bouncing back are much decreased. Your age is most likely against you in this effort.
I think that you can make them look 100% better if you keep training your biceps and especially triceps. Just realize it will probably take more muscle than you think.

sic is right. I’m 54, and there is no way to “fill out” sagging skin after 50, except to build as much muscle as you can. I don’t really do any specific arm work, but pull ups, push ups, benching and dips seem to take care of that for me. But I’ve never carried a lot of fat on my frame, the only sagging skin I have is from being pregnant with twins 19 years ago. And getting rid of that, plus the stretch marks will require surgery. Needless to say, I never wear a bikini.
Thanks for the replys.I weigh at 138 and want to drop about 15 more lbs. the thing is though that at 128 I look emaciated, but at the time I also had no muscle. I am very new to this only working out for close to a year now. My trainer says that I am stronger than most of the young women she traines and much stronger than any within my age range that attend her spa. I can do about as much as my 39 year old just did at basic training. I feel good and I feel strong, but my arms are not tight. I am just going to keep on truckin and see what results.
I cannot do 50 pushups the army way,but my trainer says those are harmful for the back.
I read abt. chin ups and my goal is to do just of those suckers. I experienced something today I had never felt before, muscle failure. I thought that was where you just could not push another one, but this time it was like the muscle just blanked out, a very strange feeling,so my trainer helped with the positive and I did the negative. I guess this is a good thing!!
