The band should give you feedback, I don’t see how a broomstick would?
The band behind the neck pulldown is similiar to a wall slide but now you have to deal with pulling the band apart at the same time.
What type of band are you using?

I’m using a small band i got from my pt. I should mention that i had c5-c6 Fusion & left shoulder impingement surgery (notears) over a year ago. My rehab is going well but i feel that my lower traps are just not getting hit enough I noticed with a broomstick that my left arm wants to moves further back instead of up & down On the pull. I also am using a S3 align brace to help re educate the muscles.
Sorry for the lack of a reply.
My wife has oen of those bands as well I was planning on trying it to see if it was a difference of resistance but I’ve forgotten. I’ll get on it and erport back.
