I mean ya could scroll up and see why I said the USA specifically but okay. You just want to stir up an argument so Imma just move along.
There is so much in this statement that makes no sense. Defund the military to start a UBI program??
I said it before and I’ll say it again: Please educate yourself on exactly what something is, where the money comes from and what the outcome tends to be - BEFORE prescribing your vote in favor of whatever that something is. In this case, UBI.
Last time I said this ^ you never actually researched Universal Basic Income, yet were still in favor of it. Is this still the case?
Scrolled up to 28 or 29 days back, and nothing.
Uh huh sure
Probably comes from taxes, cool would love to see tax dollars go towards this. Would also love to see the rich paying their fair share for something like this.
So who gets the UBI?
How much money does someone have to make before they are unqualified for UBI?
How much extra are you willing to pay in taxes to support UBI benefits?
Have you ever had a 40-hour work week and watched 30+% of it get eaten by taxes? This is already the current state of taxes FYI
Fix the problems that would make UBI a problem to people, boom!
You answered none of my questions. It irritates me when people prescribe themselves to a belief or opinion without being educated on the subject; if you decide to remedy this - I’ll have the conversation with you. Otherwise, I hope you vote for UBI in whatever area you live in - and I hope you get to be in the working class when they implement it.
On an unrelated note: I really enjoyed working full time during the Covid closures. I got to haul in checks that were smaller than the unemployment payments that other people were getting while staying home. This time was super fair to me and the other ‘essential workers’.
Universal basic income’s greatest attribute is that it has not been implemented anywhere, so Progressives believe it can’t be dismissed as quickly as their other dream programs(which have always resulted in starvation, genocide, etc.).
Never wanted a conversation with you, only stating what I want. A man can’t dream, can’t he. Don’t expect me to have all the answers, it’s the idea of UBI that’s exhilarating if it can be executed correctly. I have no idea of what you’re trying to even argue, you’re doing the exact same thing I said right-wingers do.
“Waaah Waaah this won’t work” when nothing has even been tried yet, typical
When I start getting paid not to work, do you think I will choose to go back to work?
I’m very surprised that you think the government can correctly execute anything, particularly from someone with the opinion of:
That’s up to you, what am I your boss?
Of course not but the goal is to get to where the government can execute anything correctly.
I would advise ditching the doomer mentality, I don’t think it’s healthy.
I think his point is, production will decrease. That* will raise prices.
*this is assuming that UBI is paid with already-existing money and not just Monopoly-moneyed into existence…which would also raise prices.
Then it’s an issue that needs to be fixed, boom!
Much of this is actually because of leftists/progressives. There’s plenty of info on this.
Many of our ruined cities and towns were once nice places. Even some project buildings were OK places.
It actually doesn’t, because UBI has not been instituted.
In China?
I disagree, it is because of corporations, white flight, redlining, and segregation. Watch this cool video Brick, it does a great job of explaining my views, it’s kind of on the similar topic.
If China institutes UBI and doesn’t force people to work.
I don’t think it’s realistic to expect that all of our societal issues can be “fixed.” I understand your views and desires, and have held/do hold some of the same opinions as you, but no society anywhere, ever, has successfully just “fixed” all of their problems.
