Why would you want to hold onto non-progressives if you get a hypothetical progressive state? They can be a source of unrest and try to undermine progressivism. Wouldn’t you rather have them off your turf, especially if it won’t be good for everyone?
If you were to get a nearly-all or totally progressive state, you can even have a covenant for adult citizens stating to remain they must not undermine progressivism or face penalties.
(Again, asking seriously, not joking.)

Have you not noticed that progressives have gone so woke they came out the other side racist? Have you also not realized they want to ‘fix’ every social inequity via equality of outcome? They support diversity of looks, but not diversity of thought; surely you don’t think this is a good thing…?
Which side would they take? I was enlisted, stationed in North Carolina - but raised in New Hampshire… If NC and NH were on opposite sides of this ‘war’, do you think I would happily shoot up my hometown? Or do you think I would turn my weapons on the same neighborhood where my family lived in NC?
Let’s bring some pleasant moments to the topic. Don’t think about bad things that could happen.

Last night at a July 4th party, I asked a family member who routinely goes on and on about progressivism about the hypothetical idea of progressives and non-progressives separating.
Instead of answering directly, he went in various directions. I said, “can you answer the question?” Still no response. This leads me back to my idea that leftists want to control and use non-progressives, and even mistreat them. They want all to submit to leftism instead of people going their own ways.
@tlgains I’m open to having my mind changed and my intention is not to cause trouble. Perhaps there are leftists who actually believe imposing their will on others is actually the right thing to do, however negatively I think of that.

Better infrastructure (Roads, Bridges, Schools, Public Transit) Something that bothers me is that the richest country in the world has ghettos, I love to see those areas fixed up and nice looking. There are also so many vacant and abandoned homes that could be used by people if they were fixed up.

A Universal Basic Income would be amazing, I don’t why so many people are against this. Money that is wasted on the military could go towards this.
So I guess we can imagine a hypothetical progressive state with these policies. Why would I want to hold onto the non-progressives? Because in my opinion, I have faith that most right-wingers and left-wingers (middle class and poor since that is the majority) would agree on these policies. Funny enough some right-wingers will be like “Waaah waaah this progressive policy towards inflation won’t work, this will cause whatever” and then keep complaining about a problem because of their fear of the unknown.
No I don’t want them off our turf because I don’t think the majority are soooo vastly different from left-wingers especially when it comes to economics. Most of us just want to live our lives or maybe even start a family. I would say the MAJOR difference is that right-wingers tend to be traditional, and I really don’t think the whole culture war between left-winger or right-wingers is even all that important. It always seems to be nothing but frivolous arguments from either side and then we get back to living.
But if you’re talking about an entire state of progressives, fuck that. An entire state of right-wingers? Hell yes when it comes to traditions, but hell no when it comes to economics. To me that goes against the whole freedom thing.
Welp… I don’t really know what else to say cause I myself am not so educated on how America even functions. Do we (middle class, low class) even have a say in what policies, laws, people get put in place or is it a higher-up group of clowns controlling it all? It seems like it’s that way and it really boggles my mind.

Explain how I am doing so. Do you have no governing principle/s when declaring you’d prefer places be wiped off of the map by North Korea? Do you you blindfold yourself, spin a glove, stop it with your finger and declare that place is the one?
